Ms. Ngo Thi Bich Hanh - Provincial Party Committee member, Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union (VWU) said: Women of all ethnic groups in the province always believe in the leadership of the Party and constantly affirm their position in all fields. Women are dynamic, creative, united, promote traditional qualities, actively work, produce and study to improve their professional qualifications. Based on the practical situation, the Provincial Women's Union has launched the emulation movement "Building Lai Chau women who are compassionate, confident, creative, and have a desire for development" with practical and effective actions, aiming to build Vietnamese women of the new era. The widely deployed emulation movement has changed the thinking and working methods of union members, contributing to economic development and sustainable poverty reduction. Union officials proactively improve their knowledge, participate in social activities and spread the spirit of mutual love and support. Members take care of their health, raise their children well, build prosperous and happy families, and make important contributions to the comprehensive development of the province.
Currently, the Provincial Women's Union has 956 branches with over 93,000 members. Rural women's groups are an active force participating in the new rural development program. Women proactively approach and boldly apply science and technology to production, increasing the value of local agricultural products. Many economic models led by women have an income of tens to hundreds of millions of VND, contributing to job creation, ensuring stable income for many female workers, promoting the economic restructuring of the locality.
Previously, Ms. Ly Ha Xo's family in Go Kha village (Thu Lum commune) faced many difficulties due to their economy relying on traditional farming and livestock farming and lacking technical knowledge. Thanks to the support of the Women's Union at all levels, she was able to participate in training courses and receive guidance on implementing economic development models associated with building local specialty brands to sell goods. Accordingly, she boldly changed the direction of trading agricultural products available in the commune such as crickets and tangerine membranes to sell to China. Thanks to that, the family's income improved significantly. Ms. Xo shared: Thanks to the support of union officials at all levels, I have more knowledge and confidence to develop the economy, and my life is much better.
Women's associations at all levels have diversified the forms of gathering and attracting members, while integrating the mobilization of women to respond to emulation movements of the central and provincial levels in association with the key tasks of the locality. Up to now, the targets of the Project to support women in starting a business in Lai Chau have all been achieved and exceeded the plan. 100% of specialized association officials at all levels have been raised in awareness and methods to support women in developing their businesses; 72.7% of members have been educated about employment and starting a business. 806 women have been supported in starting a business. 30 cooperatives and cooperatives managed by women have been established, and 100% of newly established women's enterprises have been consulted and supported in development.
The association levels also support resources through the model of "5 no 3 clean", saving to help each other develop the economy with 342 savings groups at women's association branches with a total amount of over 7 billion VND. At the same time, coordinate with local banks to lend over 13,000 member households over 900 billion VND of preferential capital for economic development investment.
In the family, the role and position of women are increasingly enhanced. As wives and mothers, women not only organize family life well, raise their children to adulthood, but also actively work to generate income, preserve and promote traditional cultural values, and build new rural areas. Women's Union members are also the core force with important contributions to the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", contributing to preserving, conserving and promoting the cultural identity of the nation. Female artists, journalists, and athletes contribute their talents and intelligence to the cause of developing culture, arts, physical education, and sports . Many athletes have achieved high results in major tournaments; typically athlete Luong Thi Thanh Trang won the Gold Medal in the 49kg women's category, age group over 17, at the National Club Championship in 2025...
To achieve that result, the provincial women's associations at all levels proactively included the content of the movement in regular monthly and quarterly meetings; cultural exchanges, seminars, competitions... Strengthening the communication of the association's activities on mass media, fanpages, zalo groups. From there, women's associations' awareness is raised, confidence in communication and behavior, social knowledge is gained, proactive economic development, building a prosperous and happy family; preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, worthy of the eight golden words Uncle Ho awarded: "Heroic - Indomitable - Loyal - Responsible".
