Accordingly, patient HVB (67 years old, residing in Ha Giap commune, Phu Ninh district, Phu Tho province) was admitted to the hospital with lower abdominal pain, dull pain that gradually increased, accompanied by tension in the lower abdomen.

After examination and performing necessary paraclinical tests, the 4D color ultrasound results showed that the patient had a left ovarian dermoid tumor (size 60×45mm).

Recognizing that this was a large tumor that affected the patient's health, especially the elderly, the doctors of the Obstetrics Department consulted and prescribed laparoscopic surgery to remove the ovarian dermoid cyst. After 45 minutes of surgery, the ovarian dermoid cyst was dissected, inside the tumor were hair, teeth, and cartilage.

Postoperatively, the patient's health is stable, vital signs are good and she continues to be monitored and treated at the Obstetrics Department. She is expected to be discharged after 7 days.

Previously, on May 23, at the Department of Obstetrics - Phu Ninh District Medical Center, patient NTH (35 years old, residing in Phu Nham commune, Phu Ninh district, Phu Tho province) was hospitalized with symptoms such as: lower abdominal pain, fever, signs of infection. After being examined and doing the necessary clinical tests, the ultrasound and CT scan results showed: Image of adnexal abscess.

The patient was scheduled for laparoscopic surgery. During the laparoscopic surgery, the patient's two fallopian tubes were found to be distended, filled with pus, and adhered to abdominal organs such as the intestines, uterus, and ovaries. Therefore, the doctors removed the adhesions, cut the two fallopian tubes, cleaned the abdomen, and placed a drain.

Four days after surgery, the patient was awake, no more abdominal pain, no fever, and could eat and walk normally.

According to Dr. Dang Thi Viet Phuong - Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department - Phu Ninh District Medical Center, patients with ovarian cysts need to have regular check-ups and monitoring to detect tumors that are at risk of malignancy or enlargement for timely treatment.

As for adnexal abscess, it is a condition of inflammation of both fallopian tubes, pus accumulation, if left for a long time, the abscess can rupture causing generalized peritonitis, threatening the patient's life. Women should not buy medicine on their own but should go to a reputable medical facility for examination immediately when there are signs of pain in the lower abdomen.
