Phuc Huynh won pickleball championship in Dubai, Ly Hoang Nam won in Gia Lai

Pickleball players Huynh Thien Phuc and Ly Hoang Nam both have had recent victories, affirming their names in the new sport in Vietnam.

On the evening of May 10, Huynh Thien Phuc (Phuc Huynh) announced that he had defeated his British opponent in the final match of the Dubai Open 2025 to win the professional men's singles championship.

In the final, Phuc Huynh met James Chaudry. In terms of DUPR points, Phuc Huynh was superior in singles with 6,467 DUPR points, while James accumulated 6,081 DUPR points, according to Picklewave .

Therefore, it was not difficult for the Vietnamese player to overwhelm his British opponent and win 2-0 with a score of 11-6 and 11-3.

The tennis player born in 2000 possesses powerful backhand and forehand techniques with high accuracy, especially shots down the line with fast ball speed, low and tricky ball trajectory.

Winning the men's singles title at the Dubai Open 2025, Phuc Huynh received a prize of 2,000 USD.

Meanwhile, in the domestic amateur arena, Ly Hoang Nam won his 11th title. The tennis player and his doubles partner Trinh Linh Giang convincingly won the Gia Lai tournament in the men's doubles event.

Currently, Ly Hoang Nam focuses entirely on pickleball and mainly doubles. The 1997-born athlete's tour schedule is packed in May, with a tight schedule in different locations.

Ly Hoang Nam is famous in the Vietnamese professional tennis world with the No. 1 position. Switching to a new sport, Hoang Nam welcomes many challenges and opportunities.

While Phuc Huynh also played tennis in the US, it was not until he returned to Vietnam to play pickleball that he gradually built a name for himself in the early days of this sport .
