Long Phu 1
PVN is determined to put the Long Phu 1 thermal power project into operation in 2027.

The goal is to put the project into operation before 2027.

The Long Phu 1 thermal power project has an investment capital of more than 29.5 trillion VND. The initial plan was 45 months and 49 months to complete each unit, with unit 1 to be completed on October 30, 2018 and unit 2 on February 29, 2019.

However, when the PM contractor (Russia) was embargoed by the US, the procurement of imported goods and equipment and the arrangement of capital for the project within the scope of PM's work were seriously affected, with almost no concrete progress.

One year after being embargoed, on January 28, 2019, the contractor PM officially announced in writing the termination of the project's EPC contract. PM officially stopped all activities at the construction site from March 15, 2019, and withdrew the site director from Vietnam from March 29, 2019.

At the time of suspension, the project progress was estimated at 77.56% of the plan.
