The Prime Minister recently signed Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg on the establishment of the Da Nang free trade zone, with a scale of about 1.881 hectares, located in non-adjacent locations, including functional areas: production, logistics; trade - services; digital technology industry, information technology and innovation and other types of functional areas according to the provisions of law.
Specific locations of functional areas in Da Nang Free Trade Zone:
Location 1: area of about 100ha, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district. The North borders the foot of Hai Van pass and the road connecting Lien Chieu seaport; the South borders Cu De river; the East borders Kim Lien bay; the West borders Lien Chieu Industrial Park.
Location 2: area of about 77ha, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district. The North borders the Lang Van tourist complex and resort urban area and Lien Chieu communal house area; the South borders the Lien Chieu Industrial Park and residential area behind Kim Lien bay; the East borders the residential area and Lien Chieu Industrial Park; the West borders the Lang Van tourist complex and resort urban area project.
Location 3: area of about 500ha, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district and Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district. The North borders the ADB5 Bac Thuy Tu - Pho Nam road; the South borders the Cu De river; the East borders the Nam Hai Van bypass; the West borders An Dinh village, Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang district.

Location 4: area of about 559ha, located in Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district. The North borders Hoa Ninh cemetery and the Western belt road, Hoa Ninh commune; the South borders Dong Son and Son Phuoc villages, Hoa Ninh commune; the East borders Son Phuoc village, Hoa Ninh commune and DT 602 road; the West borders the Western belt road.
Location 5: area of about 90ha located in Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district. The North borders water surface land (Suoi Mo); the South borders water surface land (Suoi Lanh); the East borders water surface land (Suoi Mo) and tourism service land; the West borders production forest land.
Location 6: area of about 154ha located in Hoa Nhon commune and Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district. North borders An Son village, Hoa Ninh commune; South borders Dieu Phong village and Truoc Dong village, Hoa Nhon commune; East borders Dieu Phong village and Truoc Dong village, Hoa Nhon commune; West borders Hoi Phuoc village, Hoa Phu commune, Hoang Van Thai street and Dieu Phong village, Hoa Nhon commune.
Location 7: area of about 401ha located in Hoa Nhon commune and Hoa Phu commune, Hoa Vang district. The North borders the Ba Na golf course expansion project, Hoa Phu commune and Dieu Phong village, Hoa Nhon commune; the South borders Dong Lam village and Hoa Hai village, Hoa Phu commune; the East borders Dieu Phong village, Hoa Nhon commune; the West borders Phu Tuc village, Hoa Phu commune.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City is responsible for the information and accuracy of the boundaries of the proposed locations mentioned above. After implementing the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units according to the two-level government model, the People's Committee of Da Nang City is responsible for reviewing and updating the boundaries of each location according to the names of new communes (if any), ensuring that the locations of approved functional areas are not changed.
Da Nang Free Trade Zone is planned and developed on the basis of modern infrastructure, synchronizing the fields of production, trade, logistics, technology and high-quality services, aiming to become a regional economic center, playing the role of a strategic growth pole of the Central region and the whole country in the new development context.
The long-term goal is to build the Da Nang Free Trade Zone into an important link in the global and Asia-Pacific supply chain network, connecting with Lien Chieu Port, Da Nang International Airport and the East-West Economic Corridor. At the same time, promote the development of high-tech industry, innovation and digital transformation, contributing to the economic restructuring of Da Nang after the merger with Quang Nam towards sustainability and integration.
The free trade zone will also connect with the Da Nang International Financial Center, contributing to the formation of a modern, smart, highly competitive economic ecosystem, increasing investment attraction and enhancing Vietnam's international position.
