A variety of gifts for women

The fresh flower market has become more vibrant in recent days as the demand for shopping and ordering flowers for women on October 20th has increased sharply. The prices of many types of flowers have increased by 20-50% compared to normal days. Specifically, Da Lat roses range from 10,000-15,000 VND/flower, imported roses are 70,000-80,000 VND/flower, sunflowers are 15,000-20,000 VND/flower, hydrangeas are 20,000 VND/flower, peonies are about 70,000 VND/flower...

According to flower shop owners, roses are still the main product, imported the most because of the increasing demand for gifts for relatives, friends, and colleagues. Currently, the price of roses ranges from 200,000-300,000 VND/bunch of 50 flowers, rose clusters 100,000-150,000 VND/bunch of 30 branches. This year, customers tend to choose decorative phalaenopsis orchids in simple ceramic vases or miniature landscapes combining wood, succulents, miniature bonsai... both sophisticated and luxurious. The prices of products range from 400,000-500,000 VND/product to more than 5 million VND for a high-end phalaenopsis orchid miniature landscape, suitable for many customer segments.

Ms. Pham Thi Bich Hang - owner of Hang's Flower shop (Long Chau ward) said: "Since mid-week, the number of customers ordering flowers has increased. Due to high demand, flower prices have also fluctuated slightly. Most customers choose flowers to give to relatives, lovers, partners... they often look for bouquets and flower baskets with a certain number of roses with a certain meaning, in which red roses are still the best-selling type. Hopefully by the end of the week, when people take the opportunity to go shopping and celebrate the holiday, the fresh flower market will be even more bustling."

Along with fresh flowers, the gift market on October 20 is also bustling, featuring unique gift combos, combining flowers and perfume; cakes and tea with flowers; fruits and fresh flowers are also popular because they are both convenient and practical. Ms. Tran Thi Diep Suong - owner of the Genuine Perfume store - Diep Suong Shop (Long Chau ward) said: "Since the beginning of October, the number of customers has doubled compared to last year. The best-selling products are lipstick, shower gel, perfume. The main customers at the store are customers buying gifts for mothers, wives, lovers, teachers... The price of each basket or gift box ranges from 200,000 VND to more than 1 million VND, depending on the product, quantity and sophistication of the design, suitable for a variety of customer segments".

On this occasion, Ms. Suong also imported wax flowers and decorative materials, proactively sourcing goods early to serve the peak season. According to her, the price of raw materials this year tends to decrease slightly due to competition in supply, helping the store to be more flexible in design and gift prices. "Customers only need to send samples, choose color tones, the store will design and deliver to the recipient. Currently, the number of orders has increased, so the store only accepts orders to other provinces until October 18 to deliver in time for the holiday" - Ms. Suong shared.

The "handmade" trend is back

In addition to fresh flowers and cosmetics, the gift market on October 20th this year also recorded the return of handmade gifts, bearing a strong personal touch. In particular, individually wrapped wax flower products, accompanied by small, pretty bags and cards, are being chosen by many people thanks to their affordable price of only 25,000-30,000 VND/small-sized bouquet, suitable for students or those who want to give gifts at a cost-saving cost.

Unlike mass-produced industrial gifts, handmade gifts clearly show care and respect. Each product is meticulously hand-made, containing the feelings of the creator. This year's market is quite diverse, from cards, woolen key chains, velvet flowers to flower boxes, gift baskets combined with food and decorative accessories, helping buyers easily choose gifts that suit the recipient's preferences.

While busy completing gift orders, Ms. Ngo Bao Tran (An Binh commune) said: “In just 1 week, the number of orders increased more than usual. Custom color-coordinated designs are very popular and often sell out early before the holidays. Handmade woolen gift products that require meticulousness such as key chains, flower bouquets, stuffed animals, costumes... can take 1-2 days to complete, people with free time can create dozens of products to sell online. Because they are handmade, the price of the products is often higher than industrially produced products, ranging from 50,000-70,000 VND/product with simple designs and several hundred thousand VND with more elaborate designs.”

Supermarkets and stores take advantage of the occasion of October 20 to launch promotions, incentives, delivery services... From October 16-29, the Co.opmart Supermarket system has "Month of the Lady - thousands of incentives", discounts up to 50% on personal care and beauty products, with gifts or 3 bonus points. PNJ organizes the program "Unique features define temperament" with a series of special incentives until October 21.

Many consumers this year also choose meaningful gifts to preserve memories for their loved ones to express their feelings. Ms. Nguyen Thu Thao (Phuoc Hau ward) shared: "I will give my mother a fruit basket with a handwritten card. Simple gifts, hand-picked, still make the recipient feel warmer."

From fresh flowers, fruits to handicrafts, the gift market for October 20th this year is still full of colors, creating more choices for consumers. Each gift is a message of love to "half the world ", bringing a warm, precious feeling and leaving a personal mark of the giver on this special day.
