Hai Ba Trung District: People are excited and support the plan to merge wards.

On the morning of April 20, wards of Hai Ba Trung district focused on completing the collection of public opinions on the plan to rearrange the grassroots administrative units in the area. The majority of people were excited and supported the merger plan and the new ward name.

Following the arrangement plan of Hanoi city, Hai Ba Trung district plans to establish 3 basic administrative units including: Hai Ba Trung, Bach Mai, Vinh Tuy. Therefore, the content of collecting opinions from representatives of households in the wards includes 2 items: Plan to arrange new ward-level administrative units and proposed names of new administrative units.

Present at the Cultural House of Residential Group No. 5, Quynh Mai Ward on the morning of April 20, we noticed that, despite being on a day off, members of the People's Opinion Gathering Team actively completed the vote counting.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of Party Cell No. 5, Head of the Group, said that there are 251 households in Group No. 5. Immediately after the People's Committee of Quynh Mai Ward deployed, the members of the Group gathered opinions of the people to meet and assign each person a task, and at the same time went to each family to ask for opinions on the above two contents.

Directly inspecting the residential groups on the work of collecting public opinions, Chairman of Quynh Mai Ward People's Committee Bui Quang Khai said that, implementing the direction of the city and district, yesterday morning (April 19), the ward posted notices and content related to collecting public opinions on the plan to arrange new ward-level administrative units and the expected names of new administrative units on the ward's Information Portal.

All 11 residential groups also posted notices and public opinion polls on their Zalo groups. Therefore, people were very well informed about this major policy, so as soon as the members of the Opinion Polling Group arrived, the households were excited and filled in the consent boxes immediately without asking for any further information.

“Quynh Mai Ward has 3,250 households whose opinions must be collected this time. This morning, many Opinion Collection Teams have completed their work and by the end of this afternoon at the latest, we will compile the data and send a report to the District People's Committee according to regulations,” said Mr. Bui Quang Khai.

Among the 15 wards that collected public opinions this time, Vinh Tuy is the ward with the largest number of households in Hai Ba Trung district with 13,539 households.

Following Mr. Le Xuan Hung, Head of Residential Group 17 - Times City Urban Area (Vinh Tuy Ward) to each household to distribute ballots to collect opinions, we realized that the majority of people were very excited and supported this great policy.

Implementing the district's direction, Chairwoman of Le Dai Hanh Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh immediately convened a meeting to deploy to all ward officials, civil servants and grassroots officials of 9/9 residential groups. Announcement on collecting voters' opinions, administrative boundary maps of new ward administrative units were publicly posted by Le Dai Hanh Ward in residential areas and distributed to each household.

The entire area has nearly 2,500 households, but the People's Committee of Le Dai Hanh Ward has printed and distributed a total of 3,000 opinion polls to 9 residential groups to distribute to households, to prevent cases of damaged, torn, or miswritten ballots... that may occur.

The majority of people agreed with the plan to arrange the new ward administrative units to be formed in the district issued by the city, as well as the name of the new administrative unit, with no other opinions.

"This was achieved because in recent days, people have been informed through many media channels about the orientations and policies of the Central Government, the city, and districts and wards on the work of arranging and streamlining the apparatus in the political system, especially on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units," Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh shared.

Head of the Hai Ba Trung District Internal Affairs Department Le Bich Hang said that 15/15 wards in the district have deployed the distribution of ballots to working groups to collect opinions and implemented the collection of opinions from voters representing households in the area. The collection of opinions was carried out very actively and responsibly by the grassroots cadres, in which many localities conducted the collection of opinions in the evening.

“Up to now, the general spirit we have seen is that people who have been given the opinion forms have expressed their agreement and high consensus with the city’s plan on arranging grassroots administrative units in the district, and no other opinions have been recorded. The wards have also not reported any difficulties or problems in this opinion collection work,” said Ms. Le Bich Hang.
