Ngo Quyen District communicates mental health care in the community

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - In order to raise public awareness of community mental health, on the morning of August 27, the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District coordinated with Hai Phong Mental Hospital to organize a communication conference on the Depression care program.

At the Conference, doctors and mental health experts from Hai Phong Mental Hospital communicated to officials and people in 12 wards of Ngo Quyen district the overview, prevalence, impact of Depression on human health and methods of treating Depression.

Accordingly, Depression is one of the most common mental disorders among mental health-related diseases. The average 12-month prevalence is 3.2% in people without physical illness and 9.3%-23% in people with other chronic diseases. About 25% of psychiatric hospitalizations are due to Depression./.
