Promoting Da Nang - the most attractive destination for Indian visitors at SATTE 2024 fair

On February 22, the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City announced that the organizer of the Da Nang FantastiCity booth will be at the South Asia Tourism and Travel Fair SATTE 2024. This is the second time Da Nang has participated in this event with the aim of promoting to the potential market of India, which is currently ranked 4th in the top 10 international tourist markets to Da Nang.

SATTE 2024 will be held at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, India from February 22-24.

SATTE 2024 will take place at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, India from February 22-24. Organised by Informa Markets and considered the largest fair in South Asia, SATTE is expected to attract over 48,000 attendees, 1,800 exhibitors and over 800 international and domestic Indian buyers from over 120 countries in 2024.

Da Nang FantastiCity booth has an area of 70m2 at location B116, hall 10 with the participation of nearly 20 tourism businesses in Da Nang and Vietnam in general, increasing the size of the booth nearly double (1.6 times) compared to 2023.

"India is one of the breakthrough tourism markets for Da Nang destination in the tourism recovery period and is forecast to continue to grow in the coming time. We expect the presence of Da Nang tourism booth at SATTE 2024 to enhance destination recognition and connect with regular and closer tourism partners," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism, about participating in SATTE 2024.

This is the second time Da Nang has participated in this event with the aim of promoting the potential market of India, which is currently ranked 4th in the top 10 international tourist markets to Da Nang.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, the attractiveness and trend of Da Nang destination will continue to be promoted by the tourism industry at the SATTE Fair as well as many other promotional activities to this market, especially targeting MICE, golf and wedding tourism.

In 2023, the Indian market ranked 4th in the top 10 international tourist markets, after Korea, Thailand and China. The total number of Indian visitors to Da Nang in 2023 reached more than 87 thousand, an increase of more than 5 times compared to 2019.

With the number of Indian visitors to Da Nang reaching 60% of the total number of Indian visitors to Vietnam, Da Nang is considered a must-see destination on the journey to Vietnam, even though direct flights between Da Nang and Indian metropolises have not been restored.

The booth opening ceremony took place on the morning of February 22, welcoming the presence and congratulations of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to India. The Ambassador continues to accompany and support localities in programs to promote cooperation and socio-economic development between Vietnam and India.

Activities such as traditional Ao Dai performances, Vietnamese coffee experiences, lucky draws, and check-in photos to receive souvenirs are organized at fixed times to attract partners to interact and learn about the destination.

Also during the SATTE Fair, Da Nang connected with airlines to strengthen partnerships and promote direct flights from India to Da Nang. At the same time, Da Nang tourism industry met with wedding tourism organizations and wedding event organizers to launch wedding tourism to Da Nang in 2024.

In addition, right from the first days of the new year, Da Nang tourism has caught up with the brilliant results of a series of active promotional activities, market access, the city continuously welcomes, consults and supports MICE tourist groups and wedding tourists with increasingly large groups from India. Da Nang tourism and service industry is improving the quality of products to be able to serve visitors from this billion-people market.
