Quang Nam: The health of 12 victims of the coating machine explosion has basically stabilized.

Specialist Doctor II Nguyen Dinh Hung, Director of Quang Nam Central General Hospital, said that on the morning of May 21, the hospital's Emergency Department received 12 victims of an explosion at a factory.

Immediately after receiving the victims, Quang Nam Central General Hospital mobilized all staff, doctors, medical staff, and equipment to focus on treating the victims.

According to specialist doctor Nguyen Dinh Hung, currently, a person with severe burns of 60-70% has had his burn wound cleaned, pain relieved and shock treated by hospital doctors. The man is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Three victims with burns of less than 10% and injuries are being cared for, treated and discharged at the Department of Trauma Surgery. Eight victims with multiple soft tissue injuries and heat-induced fainting were treated at the Emergency Department and were discharged home that same afternoon.

In a quick report to the leaders of Quang Nam Provincial Police, Major Tran Viet Luan, Head of Tam Hiep Commune Police (Nui Thanh District) said that at around 9:30 a.m. on May 21, 2025, at SGI Vina Company in Bac Chu Lai Industrial Park (Tam Hiep Commune, Nui Thanh, Quang Nam), a coating machine explosion occurred.

Immediately after receiving the information, Tam Hiep Commune Police quickly mobilized all forces to the scene to deploy professional measures, control the explosion, and coordinate with other forces to take the victims to the emergency room.

Authorities are determining the cause and property damage caused by the explosion./.
