Quang Tri proposes to locate Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry in the province

At the working session with Politburo member, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province proposed to consider locating Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry in the province.

On the afternoon of December 9, after attending the conference to announce the Politburo's decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Long Hai - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc as Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Le Minh Hung, Politburo Member, Head of the Central Organization Committee worked with the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Standing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province summarized the achievements that the province has achieved.

Besides, Mr. Quang pointed out some difficulties of Quang Tri that need the Central Government's continued attention and support.

Mr. Quang said that up to now, Quang Tri still faces difficulties in balancing the budget revenue and expenditure. Specifically, Quang Tri spends nearly 10,000 billion VND annually but can only balance about 2,000 billion VND, the rest depends on central support.

With the desire to rise up, in recent times, Quang Tri province has focused on calling for and attracting investment and achieved positive results, including projects: My Thuy Port Area, Quang Tri Airport, Quang Tri Industrial Park, Construction of a conveyor system to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam, VSICO Quang Tri Dry Port Area, CFG Nam Cua Viet Port Area...

According to Mr. Quang, Quang Tri province is currently building the Lao Bao - Densavan cross-border economic and trade zone, the Southeast Economic Zone, etc. These economic zones are important "springboards" for Quang Tri to have the opportunity to develop.

Therefore, Mr. Quang requested that central agencies, including the Central Organizing Committee, continue to pay attention and support.

Notably, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province Nguyen Dang Quang said that the 2019 Education Law stipulates that the standard qualifications of teachers have been raised, preschool teachers must have a college degree in pedagogy or higher; primary and secondary school teachers must have a bachelor's degree or higher in teacher training majors.

Since the implementation of the 2019 Education Law, pedagogical colleges no longer have the function of training primary and secondary school teachers as before. Therefore, the structure of college-level training in teacher training groups has decreased sharply, leaving only the Preschool Education sector.

Since then, Quang Tri Pedagogical College has fallen into a difficult situation. In addition, in Quang Tri there is a branch of Hue University, however, enrollment has encountered many obstacles. Although Quang Tri province has studied many solutions, up to now there has been no optimal solution to solve the problems for these two training institutions.

Meanwhile, the quality of human resources in Quang Tri province is still low, not meeting the requirements of the present era.

Therefore, Mr. Quang proposed that the Central Organizing Committee work with the Ministry of Education and Training to study the location of Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry in Quang Tri. This will help train quality human resources for Quang Tri province.

Responding to the proposal of Quang Tri province, Mr. Hoang Dang Quang - Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee suggested that the province proactively work with the Ministry of Education and Training and Hue University on the principle of being consistent with planning and practice.

Regarding the work of streamlining the apparatus, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung requested Quang Tri province to seriously implement the direction of the Central Executive Committee and the Politburo.

Mr. Hung emphasized that when implementing the organization and streamlining of the apparatus, it is inevitable that there will be concerns from the staff and leaders. However, everything must be for the common goals and interests of the country.

On this occasion, the Central delegation led by Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung presented the Quang Tri Province Gratitude Fund with 500 million VND.
