Quang Tri: Many students hospitalized after breakfast at school

At noon on September 26, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune ( Quang Tri province) said that as of 12 o'clock, more than 30 students had symptoms of stomachache and had to be hospitalized after breakfast at school.

Previously, at around 8am the same day, after breakfast at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School, many students had symptoms such as stomachache, vomiting, diarrhea...

Immediately afterwards, the school coordinated with the authorities and parents to mobilize vehicles to take the students to Le Thuy General Hospital for examination and treatment.

Mr. Dang Van Duong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, said that the commune is coordinating with the health sector and doctors to organize medical examinations at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities for initial screening.

For symptomatic cases will be taken to medical facilities for timely examination and treatment.

The commune mobilized forces to be on duty at schools and hospitals to support students and parents; coordinated with medical forces and police to seal food samples for testing to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident. The initial cause is suspected to be food poisoning.

Students' breakfast includes banh tay (a type of cake made from sticky rice and wrapped in banana leaves).

Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities is located in the mountains, and its students are mainly Van Kieu ethnic minority children. The school provides breakfast and lunch for students./.
