On the morning of November 9, in Huong Phung commune, along with many localities across the country, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School. Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang and representatives of central ministries and branches attended.

Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School project has a total investment of 360 billion VND, built on an area of 10 hectares in Doa Cu village, Huong Phung commune with a scale of 40 classrooms.
The school will have 22 primary classes and 18 secondary classes to meet the learning needs of about 1,500 students. The next phase is planned to expand to 2,100 students with 55 classes.
The project includes the following items: classroom block, student dormitory, teacher's office building, dining area, multi-purpose hall, sports field and synchronous technical infrastructure, all newly invested and built.
The groundbreaking ceremony for Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School is part of the policy to build 248 inter-level boarding schools in border communes according to the conclusion of the Politburo.
The project is expected to be completed before August 30, 2026, in time for the new school year 2026-2027.

The investment in building this school will contribute to improving the quality of education, improving the learning and living conditions of ethnic minority children in border areas, creating a driving force for development in the western mountainous region of Quang Tri province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Tran Duc Thang affirmed that building Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School is a major policy with profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the special attention of the Party and State for children of ethnic minorities, mountainous areas, remote and border areas.
Each school built in the border area not only teaches literacy and vocational skills but is also a stronghold of knowledge, faith and love for the Fatherland.

In order for the project to be completed soon, Minister Tran Duc Thang requested the Provincial Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Quang Tri province to consider this a key political task, directly direct and create the most favorable conditions for site clearance, resources and support the construction unit to ensure the progress and quality of the project.
"Design, construction and supervision units need to work with all their heart and responsibility so that each brick and column contains love and responsibility for future generations" - Minister Tran Duc Thang emphasized.
