The groundbreaking ceremony for boarding schools in border communes was held simultaneously in person and online nationwide, chaired by the Government. In Ma Tuyen village, Muong Khuong commune, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 4 boarding schools for primary and secondary levels in the border communes of Muong Khuong, Pha Long, Y Ty and A Mu Sung.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that this is an event of special political and social significance, demonstrating the deep concern of the Party and State for the cause of education, socio-economic development, and strengthening national defense and security in border areas.

The policy of building a system of inter-level boarding schools in border communes is a strategic and deeply humane decision, aiming to bring equal learning opportunities to children of ethnic minorities, creating a comprehensive educational environment, nurturing the aspiration to rise up and the will to protect the Fatherland at the border.
Lao Cai province commits to focus on implementing four key tasks: handing over clean land, ensuring progress and quality of construction. Continuing to direct sectors and localities to coordinate closely during the construction process. Strengthening supervision, preventing loss and waste. Preparing adequate human resources and facilities so that when completed, the schools truly become "homes of knowledge", nurturing the future of students in the highlands.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, leaders of Lao Cai province and leaders of several central ministries and branches pressed the button to officially start construction of four inter-level boarding schools.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra presented 200 gifts to disadvantaged students in four communes of Muong Khuong, Pha Long, Y Ty, and A Mu Sung; and presented gifts to Muong Khuong Kindergarten on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.

Previously, in order to implement Resolution No. 298/NQ-CP dated September 26, 2025 of the Government, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1478/QD-UBND dated October 16, 2025 approving the list of special public investment projects for 4 inter-level primary and secondary boarding schools in A Mu Sung, Y Ty, Muong Khuong and Pha Long communes.

These school buildings are invested synchronously with: classroom blocks, dormitories, multi-purpose buildings, libraries, kitchens, technical infrastructure... The scale of 4 schools is invested in construction on a land fund of 6.2-8.6 hectares, ensuring teaching and learning conditions for 980-1,200 students/school, with a total investment of 945 billion VND. The schools are all designed in a modern way, but still bear the strong imprint of the local ethnic identity.
With the motto "Commencement - Beginning - Success", the project of 4 inter-level boarding schools in border communes of Lao Cai province is expected to be completed on schedule, ensuring quality, bringing new, spacious and modern schools to students in border areas.
