On November 9, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a series of primary and secondary boarding schools in the border communes of 15 provinces and cities was solemnly held. In Lam Dong, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of schools in the Thuan An border area.

Currently, the country has 956 general schools in 248 land border communes. However, facilities in many places are still lacking, failing to meet the learning requirements and boarding and semi-boarding needs of students. Implementing the Politburo's Conclusion Notice No. 81 dated July 18, 2025 on the policy of building schools in border communes, the Government has agreed to invest in building 248 inter-level primary and secondary boarding schools nationwide.

In phase 1, 100 schools will be built with a total investment of nearly 20,000 billion VND. The projects that started construction today are part of the 2025 investment portfolio, expected to be completed and put into use before the start of the 2026-2027 school year. These will be model schools to continue to replicate, striving to complete all 248 schools in the next 2 to 3 years.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches and border localities to promote a sense of responsibility, implement resolutely, consider this a "campaign" that needs to be carried out with the motto "urgent - resolute - certain - effective", striving to start construction of all 100 schools in 2025 and complete before August 30, 2026.

In Thuan An commune, Lam Dong province, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Thuan An Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project is considered an important milestone, starting the journey of building "knowledge fortresses" on the border, contributing to firmly protecting the sacred land of the Fatherland with the power of knowledge and patriotism. Thuan An Primary and Secondary Boarding School will be built in Dac Thuy village with an area of ​​5 hectares, with a scale of more than 1,000 students, including 36 classes including 21 primary classes and 15 secondary classes. The total investment is more than 225 billion VND.

This is both a responsibility and a gratitude to the people in the border areas of the Fatherland, in order to ensure equitable educational development among regions.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the investment in building inter-level boarding schools in border areas is a major policy, with profound humanitarian significance, helping students in remote areas have the opportunity to access new knowledge and advanced education. The Deputy Prime Minister requested the consulting unit and contractor to ensure the progress, quality and efficiency of the project. Local authorities need to create all conditions, ensure the site and security for the project to be carried out smoothly. The Ministry of Education and Training directed localities to prepare staff, facilities and funding, and soon put the school into effective and stable long-term operation.

The Deputy Prime Minister believes that the schools inaugurated today will become bright spots in the border region, creating the best conditions for students to study, train and grow up.

He asked to seriously accept the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister - Ho Duc Phoc; at the same time, requested the investor and construction unit to organize the construction well to ensure safety and complete 100% of the items according to schedule and requirements so that the school can soon be put into operation.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi requested that relevant units need to have a detailed implementation plan and scenario, anticipating all difficulties so that the project can ensure progress and time, and be completed before August 30, 2026 to serve the 2026-2027 school year.

On November 9, Lam Dong province will start construction of two schools in the border communes of Thuan An and Quang Truc. Chairman Ho Van Muoi affirmed that this is a mark showing the Party and State's concern for the people in the border areas. Therefore, the people need to accompany the authorities, sectors and localities to make the school construction go smoothly and safely, gradually improving the quality of education in the border areas, ensuring that children can study and develop comprehensively. At the same time, the people need to compete in production, build a strong border area economically, and ensure stability in national defense and security.
