This evening, November 5, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City issued a document on allowing students to stay home from school due to the impact of storm Kalmaegi (storm No. 13). Preschool children, students and trainees in the entire Da Nang City will be off school tomorrow afternoon, November 6, to ensure safety during the time the storm directly affects the area.
For vocational training institutions, universities and private colleges, the Department of Education and Training recommends that units proactively decide on students' and trainees' learning based on actual situations.
The Department of Education and Training requests units and schools to seriously implement Official Dispatch No. 09 dated November 3 of the People's Committee of Da Nang City and Official Dispatch No. 2060 dated November 4, 2025 of the Department of Education and Training on proactively responding to storm No. 13.

Schools must focus on leading and directing storm prevention work, and have plans to ensure the safety of teachers, students and property.
In particular, boarding schools need to notify parents and food suppliers in advance not to take food to avoid excess or spoilage. Boarding schools must arrange teachers and administrators to be on duty to ensure the safety of students if they cannot return home.
The Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City reminded units to closely monitor the developments of storms and heavy rains, strictly implement the "4 on-the-spot" motto to promptly respond. After the storm, it is necessary to quickly deploy repairs, clean up classrooms and soon stabilize teaching and learning; at the same time, pay attention to supporting families of students and teachers affected by natural disasters.
