On the afternoon of November 9, a source from Dan Tri reporter at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health updated the situation of hundreds of people being hospitalized after eating bread.
Accordingly, up to now, the specialized department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has received reports from 8 hospitals, with a total of more than 170 suspected cases of food poisoning coming for examination and treatment.
They have in common that they experienced unusual symptoms after eating bread from a shop named "Miss B.", at two branches on Nguyen Thai Son Street (Hanh Thong Ward) and Le Quang Dinh Street (Binh Loi Trung Ward).
As of 10am on November 9, out of hundreds of cases admitted to the hospital, at least 65 are being treated as inpatients. Currently, most of the cases are stable, a few severe cases are being treated intensively. Regarding the subjects, the patients admitted to the hospital include children, the elderly, pregnant women, people with kidney failure...

Specifically, the 8 facilities that received emergency care and treated patients in the above incident include:
Military Hospital 175 (more than 100 cases), Tam Anh General Hospital (more than 20 cases); Gia Dinh People's Hospital (36 cases), Binh Dan Hospital (1 case), My Duc Tan Binh Hospital (1 case), Becamex International Hospital (6 cases), Trung My Tay General Hospital (5 cases), Children's Hospital 2 (2 cases).
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Ministry of Health and directed hospitals to ensure admission, classification and treatment according to the food poisoning treatment regimen issued by this agency.
Hospitals are also required to promptly report to the Department of Health (Medical Affairs Department), including admission status, number of severe cases, microbiology results and complications (if any), to promptly coordinate and unify treatment regimens.
Also according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, previously through records from medical facilities in the area, the initial finding that the agent causing the poisoning in the above incident was Salmonella bacteria (on the sample taken from the case treated at Gia Dinh People's Hospital).
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety said that this agency has coordinated with the People's Committee of Hanh Thong Ward to establish an investigation team to handle food poisoning related to the above incident.
The team conducted a surprise inspection at a bakery on Nguyen Thai Son Street, Hanh Thong Ward. At the time of the inspection, the facility was temporarily closed, so the team sealed the food and food ingredients for testing.
