Politburo member Do Van Chien was elected Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

(Dan Tri) - With the delegates' confidence in electing Mr. Do Van Chien to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, the leadership of the 15th National Assembly now includes Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and 7 Vice Chairmen.

On the morning of November 10, after conducting the personnel process, the National Assembly unanimously voted to pass the Resolution to elect Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly for Mr. Do Van Chien, member of the 13th Politburo .

With the passage of this resolution, Mr. Do Van Chien officially became Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly .

After this personnel restructuring, the leadership of the 15th National Assembly includes National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and 7 National Assembly Vice Chairmen.

The 7 Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly include Mr. Do Van Chien, Ms. Nguyen Duc Hai, Ms. Nguyen Khac Dinh, Ms. Tran Quang Phuong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Ms. Vu Hong Thanh, and Ms. Le Minh Hoan.

Mr. Do Van Chien was born in 1962, from Tuyen Quang, is a San Diu ethnic group.

He was a member of the 13th Politburo; a member of the Central Committee for 4 terms (X - alternate, XI, XII, XIII); a National Assembly delegate for the 13th, 14th and 14th terms.

He has a degree in Agricultural Engineering.

From an administrative officer, he gradually held many important professional positions at Tan Trao Tea Agricultural Industry Enterprise (Tuyen Quang province) such as: Head of Production and Business Management Department; Deputy Director of the Enterprise.

Then, Mr. Chien became Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Duong district (Tuyen Quang province) in September 1993. After more than a year in this position, he became Deputy Head of the Financial Administration Board of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee and then Deputy Head of the Organization Board of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee.

In mid-1998, Mr. Chien held the position of Secretary of the Yen Son District Party Committee and then concurrently held the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Yen Son District, Tuyen Quang Province.

From September 2001 to June 2011, he held the positions of Vice Chairman, Permanent Vice Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee.

Next, he was appointed as Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee from August 2011 and held this position until February 2015. After that, he was appointed as Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman, then Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee.

From April 2021, he became Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and was elected to the Politburo in May 2024.
