Currently, the hospital has 4 staff members specialized in medical waste management, all of whom are trained in environmental engineering and environmental resource management. In particular, Ms. Pham Thi Phuong Thuy is a specialized staff member who has been granted a training certificate by the Department of Medical Environment Management - Ministry of Health. With a team of qualified and experienced staff, who have been well-trained, waste management at the hospital is carried out synchronously, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health.

One of the highlights of An Giang General Hospital is its orientation to reduce waste at the source. The hospital prioritizes the selection of recyclable materials and supplies, minimizing the purchase and use of PVC or disposable plastic products. Instead, biodegradable products are widely encouraged to reduce the amount of medical plastic waste.

Waste classification at the time of generation is strictly implemented in each department and room. Trash bins are placed in the correct position, with clear color and symbol markings according to regulations. The waste storage area is cleaned and sanitized daily, ensuring safety standards.
