On the concrete road leading to the small hamlet, Ms. Le Nhu Phuong - President of the Women's Union of Tan Hoi commune took me to visit the members who were busy working and producing. She shared: "The movements "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" and the campaign "Building families of 5 no, 3 clean" were actively responded to by the members. This is the driving force to help women improve their lives, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc".

The whole commune currently has more than 12,800 women, of which 9,700 are members, reaching 74% of the target. Many practical support models and programs are being implemented by the association, helping women have more jobs, a stable source of income and a spirit of attachment to the association. One of the typical examples is Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem (46 years old), residing in Tan Hung hamlet. After many years working as a worker far from home, she returned to her hometown to start a business making banh in - a traditional cake loved by many people. Thanks to her diligence, willingness to learn and support from the Women's Union of the commune to borrow 30 million VND from the Social Policy Bank, she invested in machinery and expanded production.

From 3am, Ms. Diem and her family started preparing the ingredients. Each cake is meticulously made, preserving the traditional flavor. On average, she sells 25-30kg of cakes per day, and the number doubles during holidays and Tet. "This job is hard but fun because it has a stable income, each day I earn 300,000 VND to cover living expenses, and I am close to my family," Ms. Diem shared.

Coming to Phu Hoi hamlet, we heard the story of how the flower carpet sewing profession is becoming a stable livelihood for more than 30 women members. Ms. Vo Thi Va Lan - Head of the Women's Association of Phu Hoi hamlet shared: "Thanks to this profession, each woman has an additional 5 million VND/month. Everyone is united and ready to guide each other on how to do it so that we can develop together. After work, the women also share stories about raising children, cultivating family happiness, and together keeping the peace in the village."

The initiator of the profession was Ms. Nguyen Thi Lanh, with the idea of utilizing leftover fabric and available sewing skills to create beautiful decorative carpets. From products used in the family, she expanded into a processing team, creating jobs for dozens of local women. "Thanks to this profession, my family's economy is more stable, and it also helps many women have more income, I am very happy. During the process of doing the job, I always receive the attention and support of the association's officials and sisters, so I feel more attached and warm-hearted," Ms. Lanh shared.

According to Ms. Le Nhu Phuong, over the past 5 years, the Commune Women's Union has implemented the emulation movement "Building Tan Hoi women with health, knowledge, dynamism and creativity" associated with promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. The whole commune currently has more than 4,800 families meeting the "5 no, 3 clean" standards, maintaining 4 flower roads, contributing to building a green, clean and beautiful new countryside. The Union also supported more than 1,800 households to borrow capital, with a total outstanding debt of more than 60 billion VND, an overdue debt rate of only 0.46%; coordinated to advise and introduce jobs to nearly 1,300 female workers, creating regular jobs for more than 1,500 women in the locality.

Saving models such as piggy bank raising, revolving capital pooling, saving following Uncle Ho's example... have helped more than 550 poor women have the conditions to develop their economy and escape poverty sustainably. The Association also promotes the implementation of the models "Classifying waste at source", "Limiting the use of nylon bags", "Food safety in family meals", contributing to building a civilized and safe living environment. Ms. Le Nhu Phuong shared: "From specific actions, the movement of women helping each other develop in Tan Hoi has brought about many obvious changes. Women together cultivate the image of dynamic, confident, creative women in the commune, good at public affairs, good at housework, contributing to making the homeland more and more prosperous".
