National Assembly approves appointment of four new ministers

(Dan Tri) - The National Assembly has just approved the appointment of 4 ministers to head newly established units after the reorganization. The number of Government members is currently 24, including 1 deputy prime minister and minister.

On the afternoon of February 18, the National Assembly approved the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Ministers for the 2021-2026 term.

Accordingly, the National Assembly decided to approve the appointment of Mr. Tran Hong Minh as Minister of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung as Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Do Duc Duy as Minister of Agriculture and Environment; and Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung as Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

The resolution approving the Prime Minister 's proposal on the appointment of Ministers for the 2021-2026 term was also passed later.

Minister Tran Hong Minh was born in 1967, from Hanoi. He is a Doctor of Engineering.

Mr. Minh is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly. During his career, Mr. Tran Hong Minh held the positions of Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee and Minister of Transport.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung was born in 1962, from Bac Ninh, has a Master's degree in Engineering, Master's degree in Business Administration, and a Radio Telecommunications Engineer.

Mr. Hung is a member of the Party Central Committee, 12th and 13th terms. Before being approved for appointment as Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung was Chairman and General Director of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group, Minister of Information and Communications.

Minister Do Duc Duy was born in 1970, from Thai Binh, and has a Master's degree in Construction.

He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

Before being approved for appointment as Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Mr. Duy held many important positions such as: Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung was born in 1962, from Ha Nam, has a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Law.

He was a member of the Party Central Committee for 4 terms (X, XI, XII, XIII), and a National Assembly delegate for 2 terms (XIV, XV).

Before being approved for appointment as Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, he held many positions such as: Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Yen Bai province; Secretary of the Party Committee of Central Agencies; Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
