The last holiday of 2023, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 4 consecutive days off, lasting from September 1 (Friday) to September 4 (Monday).
According to the instructions in Official Dispatch 8056/VPCP-KGVX of the Government Office , on the occasion of National Day 2023, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers will be off from Friday (September 1) to Monday (September 4).

This holiday includes 2 National Day holidays, 1 weekly day off and 1 compensatory day off for the weekly day off as prescribed by the Labor Code.
Regarding the National Day holiday (September 2), the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requests agencies and units to arrange and organize their working departments reasonably to handle work continuously, ensuring good service to organizations and people.
Agencies and units that do not have a fixed Saturday and Sunday weekly holiday schedule will base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable holiday schedule.
For employees who are not civil servants or public employees, the employer decides to choose the National Day holiday option in 2023.
Accordingly, workers will have Saturday, September 2 off and can choose one of two days, Friday (September 1) or Sunday (September 3).
If the weekly day off coincides with a public holiday or Tet holiday, the employee will be given a compensatory day off on the next working day according to the provisions of the Labor Code.
Foreign workers in Vietnam are given an extra day off for traditional New Year and one day off for their country's National Day.
Previously, during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, workers had 5 consecutive days off, because April 30 and May 1 were adjacent to the Hung Kings' death anniversary.
Thus, in 2023, workers will have 3 long holidays: Lunar New Year Holiday (7 days); Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, April 30 and May 1 (5 days), National Day September 2 (4 days).
