04/07/2020 14:09

According to information exchanged by the Vietnam Trade Office in Pakistan, in February 2020, the Pakistani Ministry of Commerce issued a decision that all food and foodstuffs imported into Pakistan must have a Halal Certificate issued by a competent authority designated by the Government of Pakistan, effective from May 30, 2020, which stipulates:
The shelf life of the products at the time of import must be at least 66% from the date of manufacture.
The product ingredients and details (nutritional facts, instructions for use...) on the packaging must be printed in Urdu and English.
The Halal certification body logo must be printed on retail packaging.
Imported goods must have a Halal Certificate issued by a competent authority designated by the Government of Pakistan.
To ensure smooth export activities to the Pakistani market in the coming time, avoiding losses for traders and producers, the Department of Industry and Trade respectfully requests departments, People's Committees of districts, and related units to coordinate, promote propaganda work, fully inform businesses to grasp the situation and have appropriate handling plans, meeting the above regulations of Pakistan; at the same time, proactively inform the Department of Industry and Trade when problems arise to coordinate, ensuring the legitimate rights of Hai Phong businesses.
