The urban area of Lang Son comprises four central wards: Luong Van Tri, Dong Kinh, Ky Lua, and Tam Thanh. These areas frequently experience encroachment by businesses and residents on roads, sidewalks, and pavements for commercial purposes, along with the problem of vehicles stopping and parking in unauthorized locations. Since July 1st, when the two-tiered local government model came into operation, the Party committees and authorities of the four central wards have decisively led and directed efforts to restore urban order in their areas, ensuring clear roads and sidewalks.
Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh, Head of the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Planning Department of Tam Thanh Ward, said: From July 1, 2025 to the present, the ward has coordinated 380 propaganda sessions; requested 7,432 households to sign commitments to comply with regulations on urban order; conducted over 120 inspections, temporarily confiscated 40 advertising signs, and dismantled 65 banners hung in unauthorized locations...
Along with Tam Thanh ward, Luong Van Tri ward has also been actively launching campaigns to re-establish urban order in the area.
Mr. Vi Duc Quynh, Deputy Director of the Public Service Center of Luong Van Tri Ward, said: Following the direction of the Ward People's Committee, the unit has deployed forces and vehicles in coordination with relevant departments and the ward police to conduct inspections and resolutely clear and handle all cases of encroachment on roads, sidewalks, and pavements for business purposes, and illegal parking... focusing on key roads and areas both during and outside working hours. Accordingly, the unit has coordinated over 630 inspection and awareness campaigns; temporarily confiscated 317 tables and chairs of various types, and 12 advertising signs...
Not only the two aforementioned wards, but in recent times, all central wards of the province have coordinated with relevant units and functional forces to simultaneously launch campaigns to re-establish urban order, focusing on contents such as: inspecting, handling, and maintaining the use of roads and sidewalks by organizations and individuals; removing old and unused decorative ropes; clearing obstacles, ensuring traffic safety and urban landscape... According to incomplete statistics, from July 1st to the present, the wards have organized over 3,000 campaigns to disseminate information and conduct inspections; requested over 18,800 households to sign commitments to comply with regulations on urban order; temporarily confiscated over 200 advertising signs, over 1,000 tables and chairs, and over 150 umbrellas of various types...
With the decisive intervention of the authorities, the work of ensuring urban order in the four central wards has seen positive changes, receiving strong support and agreement from the people. Mr. Hoang Van Tho, a resident of Ky Lua ward, said: "Recently, I have seen the urban order enforcement force regularly conducting inspections, reminding and requiring businesses not to encroach on the road, sidewalk, and pavement for trading purposes. Businesses and shops in the area, especially on main roads with heavy traffic, have seriously complied with the regulations. As a result, the roads are clear, the sidewalks are spacious, and we residents can travel more conveniently."
Restoring urban order not only solves immediate problems but also creates an important foundation for building a civilized and sustainably developed city. From now until the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 is a peak period for people buying and selling goods, with increased traffic of people and vehicles, easily leading to encroachment on sidewalks and roads, spontaneous markets, and trading in unauthorized locations. Given this reality, functional forces need to continue strengthening inspections, public awareness campaigns, and strictly handling violations. This will raise public awareness of compliance, ensure urban aesthetics, traffic safety, and allow people to enjoy the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 safely and completely.
