With just over a month left until the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the festive shopping atmosphere is already becoming lively. While in the past, Tet shopping was often associated with crowded traditional markets and bustling shops, in recent years, people's consumption habits have gradually shifted towards the application of digital technology . Online Tet shopping is increasingly popular due to its many advantages such as convenience, speed, time saving; a wide variety of goods; easy price comparison; flexible payment methods; and home delivery services… making it the preferred choice for many families.

Busy taking care of her young children, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang, from Group 1, Chieng Sinh Ward, doesn't have much time to go shopping for Tet (Lunar New Year) like in previous years. Therefore, as soon as the twelfth lunar month approaches, Ms. Trang proactively "shops for Tet" on her phone and computer through e-commerce sites such as Shopee, TikTok Shop, and Lazada…
Ms. Huyen Trang shared: "This year, I have a young child, so I've been proactively ordering items like home decor, household goods, and clothes through online shopping apps and websites of reputable supermarkets and stores. Online shopping allows me to be more proactive with my time, easily compare prices, choose suitable products, and schedule home delivery at the desired time."

It's not just Ms. Trang; many young families, workers, and civil servants in the province are choosing online Tet shopping as a solution that suits their modern lifestyles. Online Tet shopping reduces time pressure, allows them to search for items they need anytime, anywhere, without much effort, and optimizes costs through promotions and discounts from e-commerce platforms and retail systems.
Mr. Hang A To, from Hua Tat village, Van Ho commune, said: "In recent years, I've switched to shopping online more. From candies and dried foods to drinks, I order everything from official stores on e-commerce platforms. This helps me save on travel costs, avoid impulsive shopping, and take advantage of many promotions and free shipping, especially when buying in bulk. Some online orders can save me from several hundred thousand to a million dong."

Changes in people's consumption habits have prompted businesses in the province to proactively adapt to the trend of digital shopping. Instead of just selling directly, many businesses are stepping up their promotion and product introduction through social media, e-commerce platforms, and other online sales channels.
Ms. Vu Thi Minh Phuong, owner of a smoked meat business in To Hieu ward, shared: "At this time, I am speeding up production of dried meat products to serve the Tet market. Currently, over 90% of the business's orders are sold online. Products are introduced and advised through social media; customers only need to message to place orders in advance, and we will prepare and deliver them to their doorstep. This year, the number of customers placing early Tet orders has doubled compared to last year."
According to Ms. Phuong, online sales place higher demands on business owners, especially for food items with short shelf lives. Therefore, the business always focuses on controlling product quality, processing, and preservation. At the same time, they ensure timely delivery, maintain brand reputation, and build customer trust.

In retail stores and supermarkets throughout the province, to meet the Tet holiday shopping needs of the people, most businesses are boosting online sales alongside in-store sales. The supply of goods for Tet is prepared early, with a wide variety of types and designs, accompanied by many preferential policies on price and service.
Mr. Phi Trung Thanh, store manager of Winmart+ in Muong La commune, said: "The store has prepared a fairly abundant and diverse supply of products to serve the Tet market. We have intensified product promotion on customer Zalo groups and implemented many special offers for online orders such as discounted combos, loyalty points, and free home delivery. The trend of online shopping during Tet this year has increased significantly, especially among young customers, office workers, and families far from urban centers. Therefore, the store has upgraded its system, made payment methods and delivery services more flexible to provide the best shopping experience for customers."

The online shopping market is becoming increasingly vibrant in the run-up to Tet (Lunar New Year), with both buyers and sellers increasingly prioritizing "digital Tet markets." Besides the conveniences offered, consumers need to be cautious when shopping online during Tet, prioritizing reputable suppliers and official stores; carefully checking product information, origin, return policies, and payment methods to minimize risks and prepare well for a fulfilling and complete Tet celebration.
