Mr. Nguyen Tien Viet, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the investor of Component 3 Project, said: Over the past 3 months, the weather at the construction site has changed unfavorably as the rainy season came about a month earlier than expected.
Particularly in August 2025, prolonged and continuous heavy rain (nearly 20 rainy days) with heavy rainfall seriously affected the entire construction work, disrupting many items, especially underground works such as: tunnels, drainage systems, roadbeds...
Foreseeing the unfavorable situation, ACV has directed the contractor consortiums to proactively adjust the plan and appropriate construction measures to accelerate the project progress, recover the delayed progress, and strive to complete the project on schedule. Therefore, despite facing many challenges, currently, 12/15 bid packages are in the basic construction organization stage, ensuring the set progress. The total output value of Component 3 Project has reached more than 44 trillion VND, reaching more than 55% of the signed contract value.

At the construction site, the consortium of contractors is currently mobilizing nearly 14,000 experts, engineers, workers, laborers and about 3,000 pieces of equipment, organizing hundreds of construction teams to achieve the basic goal of completing the project by the end of 2025; putting it into operation and commercial exploitation in the first half of 2026.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha said: The province has allocated basic stone materials to meet the project's construction needs. Along with that, Dong Nai is also speeding up the progress of projects assigned by the Government to localities. At the same time, it is speeding up the site clearance work, coordinating with relevant units to complete the traffic routes connecting Long Thanh Airport in accordance with the Prime Minister's requirements.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said: Currently, there are no more obstacles in the project construction area regarding mechanisms, policies and land. Therefore, the basic goal of completing the project before December 19, 2025 as requested by the Prime Minister remains unchanged. Any unit that is delayed, even by just one day, will be held responsible before the Government and the Prime Minister.
Emphasizing that the project must be completed synchronously to be put into operation in the first half of 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Ministry of Construction, ACV, and Dong Nai province to review the progress of sub-projects to ensure completion on schedule. Along with that, the quality of the project must be ensured.
"The Long Thanh Airport project must be done quickly but not carelessly, and quality must be ensured" - the Deputy Prime Minister requested.

In order to prepare well for the project's exploitation, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also requested ACV to coordinate with relevant agencies to best prepare the airport management and operation team.
"Long Thanh Airport is a 5-star international transit airport, so the management and operation team cannot only meet 1-star standards but must also meet 5-star standards" - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested ACV to review, make a list, and propose forms of reward for units and individuals who have made great efforts during the construction process to ensure project progress.
