(QNgTV)- It is expected that on December 19, Long Thanh International Airport will welcome its first commercial flight from Hanoi , marking the milestone of the first phase of the national key aviation infrastructure project.

Currently, the main items are being urgently completed. The traffic route connecting T1 and T2 has been opened to traffic; the roof of the main terminal has been completed; the telescopic system has completed 12/32 main pillars; the baggage conveyor belt is about 30% complete.

Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) mobilized more than 13,000 engineers and workers, along with 3,000 pieces of equipment, and installed high-capacity pumps to ensure progress during the rainy season.

With a scale of nearly 5,000 hectares, when fully completed, Long Thanh airport is expected to become an international aviation transit center of the region, capable of serving 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year.
