A representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport said today (August 29) that during the September 2 holiday, about 120,000 passengers are expected to travel each day, an increase of 8% compared to normal days.
At the same time, the Port expects to have an average of 700 flights per day, an increase of 5% compared to the current flight schedule (660 flights/day).
Of which, August 30 and September 3 are forecast to have the highest travel volume, reaching about 125,000 passengers per day and corresponding to an expected flight frequency of 730 flights.
To ensure the best service during the holiday, the Port has developed operational plans such as closely coordinating with airlines and ground service units to update flight schedules, proactively arranging resources and ground service equipment; proactively and flexibly arranging for wide-body aircraft, high passenger numbers, high seat ratios, and main flight routes to operate at parking positions with passenger bridges to create conditions for units to serve passengers quickly and promptly.
The port also requires airline representatives to be present at the counter/gate to promptly handle and inform passengers of flight delays and cancellations, to avoid passengers causing frustration, causing trouble and disrupting security and order at the terminal...
Ho Chi Minh City inter-provincial bus station welcomes 100,000 passengers/day during holidays
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, on the occasion of the September 2 holiday, the number of passengers passing through inter-provincial bus stations in the city is expected to increase sharply, reaching nearly 100,000 passengers/day, an increase of 16% over the same period in 2023.
Of which, Mien Tay bus station is estimated to have reached nearly 205,000 people, an increase of 15% over the same period last year and double the normal days. The highest number of passengers was on August 30 and 31, about 54,500 and 59,000 people, respectively. The station will mobilize more vehicles, with more than 1,800 departures per day.
At the new Eastern Bus Station (Thu Duc City), the number of passengers is expected to be around 36,300, nearly double the same period last year.
The representative of this station said that although the expressway system towards the Central and Northern regions is developing rapidly, many people tend to use private cars for short trips, but the demand for passenger buses is still high. In case the number of passengers increases suddenly beyond the capacity of transport units, the station will mobilize more vehicles running under contracts, tourism , and buses to relieve the congestion.
During the upcoming holiday, ferry terminals will also increase operating frequency to serve people's travel needs.
Specifically, Cat Lai ferry terminal is forecast to serve an average of 287 trips/day, an increase of 7% over the same period in 2023, with 68,750 passengers/day.
Binh Khanh ferry terminal is expected to serve an average of 196 ferry trips/day, an increase of 9% over the same period in 2023, with 33,600 passengers/day.
The Can Gio - Vung Tau sea ferry is expected to operate 30-34 trips per day (round trip), with an average of 2,300 passengers/day, equivalent to the same period in 2023.
