Thanh Dat Fruit Cooperative was established in 2018, with 17 members, growing 80 hectares of fruit trees, including: Mango, longan, plum, custard-apple, avocado... Immediately after its establishment, the Cooperative established regulations, requiring all members to take care of fruit trees according to technical procedures, use grafted varieties with clear origins, use the right fertilizers for each stage of tree growth; comply with fertilization techniques, care, pruning, pest control, harvesting methods, post-harvest preservation... to create quality, safe products.
Mr. Nguyen Nhu Bien, Director of the Cooperative, informed: Currently, the Cooperative is applying the VietGAP production process for over 60 hectares of fruit trees, has a diary recording the care process, uses organic fertilizers and uses fruit bags, ensuring product quality... On average, each year, the Cooperative produces over 800 tons of various fruits; on average, 1 hectare of land brings in nearly 450 million VND. The lives of members are increasingly improving.
By joining the cooperative, members are not only supported with techniques, but also provided with agricultural materials, fertilizers, and quality seedlings. At the same time, the cooperative proactively connects and seeks markets for its products. Mr. Hoang Van Doan, Chieng Pan village, a member of the cooperative, said: His family grows 7 hectares of dragon fruit. Since joining the cooperative, his family has been exposed to and guided on organic planting and care processes; invested in an automatic irrigation system, and kept a production diary... This year, the weather is favorable, the fruit is beautiful, the yield is more than 50 tons of fruit/ha, and traders buy at the garden at a price of 15,000-20,000 VND/kg. The family has created jobs for 20 workers, with an income of 7.5 million VND/month. Next year, the family will continue to expand the dragon fruit growing area by 8 hectares.
Along with producing traditional crops, members of the cooperative also introduce new varieties into production. Typically, the family of Mr. Bui Van Tuyen, Ta Niet village, a member of the cooperative, invested nearly 2 billion VND to build a net house system, automatic sun-blocking roof and drip irrigation system to grow nearly 1 hectare of black grapes, a strawberry nursery and tomato plants.
Mr. Tuyen shared: With the support of the Cooperative, I have access to scientific , environmentally friendly farming processes from the Project "Smart Agricultural Production for Future Generations" funded by the Korean Government. The synchronous application of biological pest control farming solutions, using smart greenhouses, brings many outstanding advantages compared to traditional growing methods, minimizing pests and eliminating the use of plant protection chemicals, ensuring safe fruit quality and higher productivity. Thanks to that, production in greenhouses brings in revenue of about 3 billion VND/year/ha.
With the positivity and initiative from production to finding output for products, Thanh Dat Fruit Cooperative has oriented members to produce agriculture in a green, clean, safe direction, increasing product value, increasing production value on cultivated areas, contributing to bringing stable income to members and farmers in the area, actively contributing to the economic and social development of the locality.
