Rethinking, confidently integrating
Ms. Lai Thi Kim Son, a member of the Women's Union of Thuan Hoa ward, has made a strong mark on her entrepreneurial journey through perseverance, innovative thinking, and confident integration.
In 2023, Ms. Lai Thi Kim Son participated in the Final Round of the National Startup Project Development Program, marking her tireless efforts in successfully building the Hoa Sua Bird's Nest brand.
In 2025, she continued to demonstrate her dynamism and creativity with the project "Innovation and Improvement of Freeze-Drying and Packaging Technology for Bird's Nest Products at Hoa Sua Bird's Nest Production and Trading Company Limited". Ms. Son's project was highly praised by city departments and agencies as a model for applying modern technology, creating practical value, improving product quality, and making a positive contribution to the local economic development. Ms. Son stated: "To achieve the success we have today, the policies supporting technological innovation from various levels of associations and departments have provided the impetus for businesses to boldly invest and upgrade their products. We believe that when women confidently learn, dare to innovate, and dare to start businesses, they can go very far and contribute more to the community."
It's not just Ms. Son; the women's entrepreneurship movement in Hue is spreading rapidly. Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Diep, owner of the "Bep Hoa - Hue Specialties as Gifts" brand (Phan Boi Chau Street), is also a prime example. With her business acumen and meticulous attention to detail, from quality to packaging and product imagery, Ms. Diep has brought Hue specialties such as banh loc (tapioca dumplings), nam (steamed rice dumplings), nem lui (grilled pork skewers), and salted coffee to many provinces, cities, and online markets. "Technology helps young people easily connect with customers, manage orders, promote products, and expand their markets. The important thing is to maintain quality and long-term reputation," Ms. Diep shared.

Support and empower
Besides being successful in business, the women members also persistently cultivate Vietnamese family values, nurture lasting happiness, build a strong women's association, and adapt flexibly to the digital age.
The Women's Union of the city places special emphasis on nurturing Vietnamese family values in the new context. The work of building a safe environment for women and children is closely linked to the "5 No's, 3 Cleanliness" family building campaign... which is an important resource helping women to care for and raise their children well, and build happy and civilized families.
The various levels of the association organized a series of activities to promote and educate on life skills, ethics, parenting skills, and resolving family conflicts. The campaign "Building a family with 5 no's and 3 clean's" left a remarkable mark, with 3,208 out of 1,400 member families meeting the criteria, exceeding the target by 129%. 100% of the association's branches registered to implement 691 projects and tasks to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
Volunteer movements have spread widely throughout the community. Over the past five years, 872 children have been sponsored by women's associations at all levels in the city with a total funding of nearly 8.6 billion VND. 205 houses have been built or renovated for poor women and families under preferential policies, totaling 1.7 billion VND. 10,340 gifts worth over 3.4 billion VND and 9,840 scholarships have been awarded by the associations. The associations have also mobilized resources from the Blue Dragon Children's Organization to support livelihoods worth over 7 billion VND. These results contribute to improving the material and spiritual lives of thousands of women and children; building a humane, warm, and sustainable community. These figures not only reflect the effectiveness of the association's activities but also demonstrate the strong inner strength, creativity, and perseverance of Hue women in overcoming difficulties.
Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Chairwoman of the Hue City Women's Union, affirmed: “Today, Hue women are more confident, more dynamic, and know how to utilize technology and the digital market to develop the economy and build brands. When women are in control of their own finances, they will also have a voice in the family and society. Women will assert their role in building prosperous and happy families and become an important factor in the economic development process of the locality. To help members achieve this, the Union always accompanies them by providing training, connecting them with capital, transferring technology, promoting trade, and inspiring women to rise up strongly.”
| With the support of women's associations at all levels, there have been 8 collective trademark products and 16 OCOP products with women as the main producers; 4 businesses owned by women have received investment support, improved production processes, enhanced competitiveness, and participation in e-commerce.
