This year, entering the 4th season on July 15 and 16, 2023, with the theme "Impressive Hau Giang", Mekong Delta Marathon continues to develop strongly in both form and scale. Mekong Delta Marathon 2023 has been certified to meet international running standards of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), so that runners can use the results to register to compete in the most prestigious marathons in the world .
It is expected that 9,000 athletes will participate in this year's season.
With the close and thoughtful direction of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee, the coordination of organization and professional operation of Hau Giang Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism and Nexus Media Joint Stock Company brought athletes wonderful experiences. The expertise of the running track was guaranteed, the tournament also helped athletes enjoy local specialties and cuisine. From there, promote and stimulate tourism, especially green tourism combined with sports, making Hau Giang an attractive, healthy and new destination.
The tournament continued to be held for the 4th time at Hoa Binh Square, Vi Thanh City, Hau Giang Province, with many innovations in scale and format, the running track was officially recognized as meeting international running standards, and was also a series of activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hau Giang Province's establishment (January 1, 2004 - January 1, 2024).
The entire race is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) to certify international standard races. The race will join the system of international races, creating conditions for athletes to use their achievements at the 2023 "Vietcombank Mekong Delta Marathon" International Marathon in Hau Giang province to participate in prestigious marathon tournaments around the world.
The number of athletes participating in this year's season is expected to be 9,000. Unlike other races, the distances of 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km all start and end at the same location, forming a closed loop. This helps athletes stay excited and experience new running routes.
In season 4, the "Mekong Delta Marathon" International Marathon in Hau Giang province continues to receive support from the brand sponsor Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade and officially takes the name: "Vietcombank Mekong Delta" International Marathon - Hau Giang 2023.
