Việt NamViệt Nam08/09/2024

On September 8, storm No. 3 and its circulation continued to affect many localities in the province. As of 12:00, heavy rain caused landslides in many locations on Provincial Road 433 - a vital road about 90 km long, connecting Hoa Binh city through Da Bac district and connecting to Son La province. The authorities have stepped in to urgently handle the landslides to ensure traffic safety and soon open this important road.

Right from km3+00 starting from Hoa Binh city to Da Bac district, a large amount of rocks and soil spilled onto the road, causing traffic congestion. By nearly 7:00 a.m. on September 8, the authorities had handled the situation to ensure safety for vehicles to circulate.

Road 433 in Toan Son commune had landslides on the hill, making it unsafe for traffic, so the traffic police had to set up barriers to guide people and vehicles through the old road.

The landslide in Suoi Lao, Cao Son commune caused traffic jam for several hours. The Department of Transport has directed the unit managing this road to mobilize human and material resources to handle the landslide. By 10:10 am, the road was cleared and vehicles could move but must be extremely careful to avoid slipping.

Prolonged heavy rains created a large flood flowing strongly along the stream, causing a large section of Highway 433 to collapse through Giằng Hamlet, Cao Sơn Commune. The road was severely damaged. Authorities temporarily set up ropes and warned vehicles to slow down on this section of the road.

On the morning of September 8, on Highway 433 from Da Bac town to Tan Minh commune, there were over 15 landslides and the authorities were on duty to handle the incident upon learning of the situation. In addition, the locality has proactively placed warning signs at many locations to alert people when participating in traffic.

The leader of the Department of Transport said: The management unit of Provincial Road 433 has promptly grasped the situation and actively directed and urged forces to handle landslides and traffic jams caused by storms and rains. At the same time, urgently review the extent of damage on this important route to have an appropriate handling plan, ensuring traffic safety and quality of construction.
