Next, after 30 days from the date of 2-way lock (ie May 15), if the subscriber still fails to standardize the information, the telecommunications network will revoke the subscriber's number according to regulations. This is an important step in this subscriber information standardization phase so that the authorities, network operators and people can join hands to eliminate the problem of junk SIMs, junk calls, and scam calls that have been a headache and caused many social consequences in recent times.

A representative of Viettel Telecom said that as of the morning of April 14, there were about 290,000 Viettel subscribers nationwide who were being locked in one direction due to information that did not match the national population database.

For VinaPhone network, since the campaign was launched, 600,000 subscribers have been added and adjusted to meet the information standardization requirements. However, as of the afternoon of April 14, there were still more than 400,000 subscribers who had not been standardized.

Although the number of subscribers who have not standardized their information is still quite large, both networks said they will take strong action in accordance with regulations. This is to meet the goal of all active subscribers having complete, accurate information that matches the National Population Database. April 15 is the deadline. If the subscriber has not yet come to the telecommunications service provider to standardize the information, the subscriber will be officially locked in both directions. By May 15, subscribers who have locked in both directions and have not contacted the network to standardize will have their numbers revoked to the network's number warehouse.

When the network operator locks the two-way SIM, the subscriber will not be able to receive incoming calls, make calls, send messages to other subscribers or access the internet using data packages. Thus, all communication connections from the subscriber will be cut off by the network operator.

Due to the large number of subscribers locked in both directions, the network operators have continuously issued recommendations, mobile users who have not standardized their subscriber information should go to the transaction points soon to supplement and update before the number is revoked to the number warehouse. This is the right and also the obligation of mobile users.

In case the subscriber is locked in both directions, to get support to unlock the SIM and verify information, people need to bring identification documents such as citizen ID, passport, etc. to the transaction point of the network operator they are using to update and supplement information within the next 30 days.

Unlocking 2-way SIM cards is only done when the subscriber completes the update of information matching the National Population Database. Locking 2-way subscribers and moving towards revoking subscribers who do not standardize information is a drastic action taken by the Department of Telecommunications, the Ministry of Information and Communications and telecommunications network operators in Vietnam to ensure that all subscribers have information in accordance with regulations./.
