According to Russian officials, the growth rate of agricultural exports by volume is currently about 70% compared to the previous year.
“Our agricultural and industrial exports are growing well. In fact, we have exceeded our export target compared to last year. Currently, Russia mainly exports grain. Grain accounts for the largest share, in addition to oilseeds, butter, vegetable oil, sunflower. These are considered the country's main export products,” said Ruslan Davydov.
Accordingly, the largest importers of Russian food are China, Middle Eastern countries, Egypt and Kazakhstan. These countries can be called “traditional markets” for food of Russian origin.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture 's report shows that the country will supply 60 million tons of grain to foreign markets worth $41.6 billion in the 2022-2023 agricultural year (from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023).
Previously, President Vladimir Putin announced that in 2022, the agricultural production index would be at 110.2%, with a crop harvest of nearly 158 million tons - a record in modern Russian history.
