After the crocodile escape, Ca Mau strengthens management of naturally-derived livestock

On August 4, after the crocodile escaped from its cage in Khanh Binh commune, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province directed the People's Committee of Khanh Binh commune to mobilize functional forces and local people to continue searching for and capturing the remaining escaped crocodile.

At the same time, increase information and propaganda to people in areas where crocodiles escape to be vigilant, take good measures to prevent accidents, and absolutely do not let people (especially children) bathe in the river.

Continue to observe, if you detect a crocodile, promptly notify the commune authorities to mobilize forces to capture it.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province also requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province to direct the Forestry force to check records, procedures, and handle the responsibility of the owners of crocodile farms that do not ensure safety.

Organize a review of the situation of raising animals of natural origin throughout the province; guide and support breeding facilities in completing records, procedures, arranging barns and implementing safety measures in accordance with regulations; strictly handle violations.

As reported by SGGP Newspaper, at around 8am on July 24, in Khanh Binh Commune, two crocodiles escaped into the wild. Commune police and local residents searched for and captured one, weighing 5.7kg; the other has not been found yet, and its weight is unknown.
