Specifically, in March 2022, the Food Safety Department issued a warning about advertising information on health protection food N-Collagen weight loss support tea on a number of websites.

According to the department, the advertising content of health food products such as N-Collagen weight loss support tea violates advertising laws.

These products are manufactured by Vinh Dien Pharmaceutical Production Company Limited (address: Dan Phuong Industrial Park, Dan Phuong Commune, Dan Phuong District, Hanoi City) and announced and responsible for the products by N-Collagen Import Export Company Limited (address: 28 Lot B Street, Phu Dinh River Port Resettlement Area, Ward 16, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City).

The Food Safety Department is coordinating with relevant authorities to verify and handle the case according to current regulations.

"While the authorities are handling the case, the Department recommends that consumers do not base their decisions on false advertising content on some of the above websites and links to buy and use the above products because they may pose a risk to health and the economy ," the Department of Food Safety stated.

"New version" becomes "supplement"

Later, the N-Collagen weight loss support tea health food was "upgraded" into a new version of the lemon Detox supplement.

This product is exclusively distributed by N-Collagen Import Export Company Limited (28 Lot B Street, TDC Phu Dinh River Port, Ward 16, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City).

The trader responsible for product quality is BEQUEEN Company Limited located at Dan Phuong Industrial Zone, Dan Phuong Commune, Dan Phuong District, Hanoi City. Manufactured at VESCO Pharmaceutical Company Limited.

According to current research on social networking platforms and e-commerce platforms, TikTok account Tran Thi Bich Ngan (Ngan Collagen) regularly posts videos advertising weight loss products such as apple candy.

Besides, currently, Ngan Collagen also sells some types of "Face ginseng" body cream which are widely advertised, have been on the market for 14 years, produced by her own company and advertised as licensed and inspected by the Ministry of Health.

On social networks, Ngan Collagen often shares pictures of her "huge" fortune and rich "luxurious" life.

Peak month for handling food safety violations

The Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) has just issued a document requesting health departments and food safety departments nationwide to strengthen inspection and tighten management, especially in advertising activities and post-inspection of food products.

One of the highlights of this directive is the requirement to establish a working group to review, rectify and handle violations related to food product advertising activities.

At the same time, surprise inspection teams will be established and deployed from May 15 to June 15, 2025, focusing on food production and trading establishments, to detect and strictly handle acts of producing and trading counterfeit, smuggled, and unknown origin goods.

The Food Safety Department also requested localities to increase management efficiency in licensing, testing, post-inspection and granting of certificates of eligibility for food production, creating a clear change in the work of preventing commercial fraud.
