Due to the psychology of hoarding food before Typhoon Wipha made landfall, from the evening of July 19, the number of customers shopping at supermarkets increased dramatically, people lined up to buy necessities such as meat, fish, vegetables, ready-to-eat foods, bread, dry food, milk, water, etc. However, the prices of goods at supermarkets remained stable compared to normal days, there was no increase in prices of goods, the amount of goods sold increased sharply, and the supply of goods was abundant and diverse.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 3 Wipha, the Department of Industry and Trade directed commercial businesses and supermarkets to review essential reserve items and equipment for flood and storm prevention and control; proactively stock up on food and provisions according to approved plans; maintain on-duty and be ready to support transportation and supply of goods when requested...
