Good news for the business community

The signing of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo by General Secretary To Lam on private economic development has been welcomed by experts and the business community.

According to Mr. Than Duc Viet - General Director of May 10 Joint Stock Corporation, Resolution 68 is a welcome signal for the business community nationwide, of which more than 90% are private enterprises. This is a turning point in the era of national development, as General Secretary To Lam emphasized. This Resolution represents a huge change in awareness and thinking towards the private economic sector.

Accordingly, the Party Central Committee has officially recognized the private economic sector as the most important driving force of the economy. This is a historic shift, reflected in the abandonment of long-standing prejudices about private enterprises and the affirmation of the central role of this sector in the country's development strategy.

The Resolution also focuses on creating a favorable, open and equal business environment, in which private enterprises are guaranteed ownership rights and legal business rights, while not criminalizing normal civil economic and commercial relations.

In particular, specific support for small businesses has demonstrated the Party's strong commitment to realizing the goal of elevating private enterprises and creating momentum. develop both in scale and quality in the coming time.

"May 10 – a former state-owned enterprise, equitized since 2005 – is now an active member of many industry associations and the business community.

As an export enterprise with more than 80% of its output consumed in the international market, May 10 highly appreciates the specific policies in the Resolution to help strengthen integration capacity, especially when many foreign partners were previously hesitant about the transfer model from state-owned enterprises," Mr. Viet shared.

Another highlight of the Resolution, according to Mr. Viet, is the setting of clear goals such as: reaching 2 million enterprises by 2030 and 3 million by 2045. In addition, there are a series of specific measures on training high-quality human resources, improving the investment environment, and supporting private enterprises to develop sustainably.

"In this atmosphere, we consider this to be one of the great turning points for private enterprises to make a breakthrough. May 10 will strive to develop in accordance with the spirit of the Resolution, aiming for a position worthy of the leading private enterprises in the ASEAN region and globally," Mr. Viet emphasized.

Although expressing excitement about Resolution 68, May 10 leaders also reflected on a problem they are facing when implementing a new project in Thai Binh. Accordingly, the company has completed construction and is preparing to put the factory into operation, but is facing obstacles in the environmental acceptance process.

Specifically, businesses can only monitor the environment after 3 months of actual operation, but must have monitoring results to complete acceptance and be allowed to operate. This puts businesses in a "vicious circle" situation.

“We believe that this is not a barrier created by the locality but a gap between legal documents, between the central and local levels,” the General Director of May 10 Joint Stock Corporation commented and hoped that the authorities would soon review and adjust so as not to hinder the project implementation process of the enterprise.
