BHG - Reading culture is gradually spreading strongly in schools, not only contributing to nurturing the love of books but also arousing the passion for learning and creativity in students. Friendly library models, reading festivals, or e-book reading... have been and are the "golden key" to open the door of knowledge for future generations.

During every recess at Tien Yen Primary School, Tien Yen Commune, Quang Binh District, it is easy to see groups of students gathering to read books in the school yard or engrossed in the bookshelves of the friendly library. Lu Hong Nhung, a student of class 3A, shared: "I really like reading books and newspapers, so the school library is truly my great friend. Especially when I read books in the airy and cool school yard like this, I find it easier to absorb and remember."

Through many forms such as organizing the school-level contest "We tell stories from books"; "Book Reading Day", Tien Yen Primary School has contributed to fostering the love of books for students by creating many spaces for students to access books in school. Teacher Ngo Hong Thuy, Principal of Tien Yen Primary School said: The school library will be open in the afternoons for students and teachers to read books, research teaching materials and borrow books to take home. In addition, the school also built a mobile library in each class for students to read during recess, before or after school. At the same time, each class will call on students to exchange books so that each person can read more books.

In the context of the current strong digital transformation, students not only read books and paper documents but can also read e-books and newspapers, creating a more diverse and attractive approach for modern students. At Ha Giang Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, reading culture is integrated into classroom activities, extracurricular activities and life skills programs. Students are given the opportunity to access books through digital document storage, online reading applications and creative interactive activities.

Lu Thi Diep, 11th grader at Ha Giang Province Ethnic Boarding High School, happily expressed: “In addition to reading paper books, I often listen to books through digital platforms. Some books also have very attractive video summaries. Thanks to that, I can both learn knowledge and feel relaxed.”

Sen Trung Kien, a 12th grader at Ha Giang Province’s Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, excitedly said: “We usually have 30 minutes to use the computer and when we do, we always choose a new book to read or listen to. Reading not only helps me study better but also broadens my life experience and helps me understand more about many fields.”

Reading books not only helps accumulate knowledge but is also an effective way to practice critical thinking, improve language skills, and form positive personality for students. When books become a companion, students can learn more actively and enthusiastically.

Teacher Nguyen Phu San, principal of Ha Giang Province's Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities, said: "We encourage students to experience multimedia from books: reading, listening, watching. Not only accessing the content, but also helping them practice critical thinking and deeper perception. Books are not only knowledge, but also a tool for growing up."

Books are a reliable companion, an endless source of knowledge, a beacon for the future. By investing in a reading culture from school - the place where the journey of knowledge begins, schools in Ha Giang have been sowing the seeds for a generation of students who love learning, love knowledge and are full of ambition.
