Another case of tax evasion of more than 1.08 billion VND discovered

One of the focuses of this peak period is handling tax violations in the field of e-commerce - a field that is growing strongly but also has many potential risks of budget loss.

Through the review, the authorities discovered that Ms. TTLTh, residing in Thang Nhi Ward, Vung Tau City, had signs of tax evasion. This individual traded goods via Facebook with two accounts, livestreaming sales at two fixed time slots every day at 11:30 and 19:30 at an address in Thang Nhi Ward. Ms. Th mainly sold items such as cosmetics, clothes, household appliances and had a large number of followers, up to more than 7,000 people, operating as an individual without a business registration.

From the collected documents, the authorities determined that the revenue from Ms. TTLTh's sales transactions during the period from January 1, 2020 to May 18, 2025 amounted to more than 72 billion VND. However, during this entire period, Ms. Th did not declare and pay taxes. The Tax Department determined that Ms. Th had evaded value-added tax and personal income tax with a total amount of more than 1.08 billion VND, causing a loss to the State budget.

The Tax Department of Region XV has transferred all files and documents related to the above case to the Investigation Police Agency - Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police to investigate and strictly handle according to the provisions of law.

Continue to strengthen inspection and supervision

Mr. Doan Minh Dung, Head of the Tax Department of Region XV, said: In the coming time, the Department will continue to strengthen inspection and supervision of e-commerce business activities in the areas under its management. The goal is to promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle tax evasion and tax fraud to ensure fairness in the implementation of financial obligations to the State and contribute to a healthy business environment.

The detection and strict handling of violations is a clear demonstration of the determination of the Tax sector in ensuring fair law enforcement and preventing budget losses in the context of increasingly expanding e-commerce.
