Previously, on May 8, a post appeared on social media by Nguyen Duc's account stating that on May 3, he supported a group of tourists from Dak Lak to camp overnight on Hon Nua. According to the post, this group of tourists booked a boat through a person named Tran Truc, but when they arrived, they could not contact him and asked Mr. Duc to take them to the island.

"But Tran Truc kept on assuming that I was playing dirty, hiring people to bring down your service. This morning, May 8, Tran Truc and an employee beat me up. I really hope the online community will restore justice and condemn this thuggish behavior for me," wrote Nguyen Duc.

Local authorities are verifying the incident.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duc (30 years old, the person who posted the above article) said that he was beaten in the face and head by Tran Truc, an employee of Dong Lai raft. He has reported it to the local police.

"The Dak Lak group of tourists did not take the Dong Lai raft's canoe because of the long wait, but instead called to take my canoe. When they got home, they wrote an article about their travel experience and complained about the Dong Lai raft's service. They thanked me and tagged me on Facebook.

At that time, not knowing right from wrong, Tran Truc wrote an article to slander the customer and mentioned my name directly in the comment, intentionally defaming my honor and saying that I solicited customers," said Mr. Duc.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (owner of Dong Lai raft) said that his son-in-law, Tran Truc, had had a conflict with Mr. Duc before.

"We didn't beat Duc because we thought he was playing dirty with us. This was just a personal conflict between Duc and Truc. Before that, Duc also came to our raft area to curse. I tried to stop them and asked them not to cause trouble to avoid affecting each other's business, but the next day, the two sides got into a fight," said Mr. Dong.

According to him, Mr. Duc's intentional use of the Dong Lai group's name in this matter affected the group's reputation. He contacted Mr. Duc and asked him to apologize and remove the article.

Discussing the above content, Mr. Tran Kim Trong - Chairman of Hoa Xuan Nam Commune People's Committee - said that he had grasped the information Mr. Duc posted on social networks. Currently, the commune police are verifying and working.

Mr. Nguyen Le Vi Phuc - Chairman of Dong Hoa Town People's Committee - said that the locality coordinated with the authorities to handle the canoes operating in violation of regulations. Hoa Xuan Nam People's Committee reviewed and made records of the owners of food service establishments and canoe businesses operating in violation of regulations for handling.

Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Van Dinh - Deputy Chief of Staff of Phu Yen Province Border Guard - said that on May 6, the Border Guard discovered 3 passenger vehicles lacking registration and inspection documents and imposed administrative penalties in the field of inland waterway traffic.

"Due to the demand of tourists, many locals still secretly take tourists on tours in Vung Ro Bay. Sometimes they hide under canoes, lobster feed ships, and then combine this with taking tourists to Hon Nua Island," said Lieutenant Colonel Dinh.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Canh - Deputy Director of Phu Yen Department of Construction, currently it is the tourist season, the locality attracts a large number of tourists to visit island tours. Based on that demand, many households have invested in canoes to take tourists to visit some islands near the shore such as Hon Nua, in addition to Cu Lao Mai Nha, Hon Yen, Hon Chua...

However, Phu Yen has not yet announced or licensed the exploitation of any inland waterways or routes, so all of the above means of transport do not meet operating conditions.

In addition, some vehicles do not have registration papers, inspection certificates, or professional certificates, posing many potential risks to inland waterway traffic safety.

"The Department Inspectorate will coordinate with relevant units to increase inspection and punishment of vehicles transporting passengers in violation of regulations," said Mr. Canh.
