The Can Gio coastal urban tourism project (Vinhomes Green Paradise) located in Can Gio (HCMC), with a total area of 2,870 hectares, invested by Vingroup Corporation (Vingroup), officially started construction on April 19.
At the ESG ++ Super City seminar organized by Vingroup Corporation on the morning of October 23, the corporation said that the project is positioned as an ESG ++ super city, with the world's leading Green - Smart - Ecological - Regenerative City, contributing to shaping future living standards.
Ms. Phan Thien Ly, Project Sales Director, said that the project is currently being accelerated, and is expected to complete phase 1 (filling the foundation and preventing erosion) by November. Also during this time, the investor will start construction on the golf course, theater, amusement park and low-rise housing area, expected to be completed within 12 months.
"Phase 2 will be implemented in mid-2026, focusing on road construction and technical items," said Ms. Ly.

Current status of Vinhomes Green Paradise project
Vinhomes Green Paradise sea encroachment solution
Regarding sea encroachment technology, according to a representative of Vingroup, due to the geological characteristics of Can Gio, the company and consulting partners have conducted a thorough survey to come up with a suitable solution.
This area is an estuary, geologically formed by many layers of sediment. The upper layer is a layer of soft silty clay sand 18-24 m thick; below are layers of clay - sand. These layers are in a plastic to semi-hard state.
At a depth of 36–40 m, the soil becomes solid with layers of dense sand and hard soil, an ideal foundation for laying foundations for large-scale constructions.

Perspective of Vinhomes Green Paradise project
During the construction process, Vinhomes Green Paradise applied coastal soil treatment technology consulted by leading international experts from the Netherlands, helping to ensure solid construction works, absolute long-term sustainability.
This technology has been successfully applied at the 335ha VinFast Factory in Hai Phong since 2017, in the coastal area of Cat Hai.
To treat the Can Gio soil, the unit has applied modern sandblasting technology combined with a special excavation-filling balance principle, which means that most of the filling materials are taken directly from water surface areas within the planning scope, then filled in the mainland.
This solution has been proven in many countries, typically the Palm Jumeirah artificial islands in Dubai or large port expansion projects in Asia. "Vingroup makes a lifetime commitment in the sales contract: if there is subsidence, the group will directly maintain and repair it at its own expense. This is an absolute guarantee for the sustainability of the asset and the confidence of investors" - the group representative informed.
The project also combines ecological solutions such as planting mangrove forests, preserving and regenerating ecosystems, and responding to climate change to help build admirable architectural wonders in this coastal metropolis. The method of reclaiming land in Can Gio is therefore not only safe but also opens up a sustainable green model - a new ecological symbol for coastal cities in Vietnam and the world.
