Practically welcoming anniversaries, major holidays and Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress, the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Student Association of Khanh Hoa province organized the journey "Khanh Hoa students with the sea and islands of the homeland" in 2025 and the 2nd "Healthy Students" Festival in the 2024-2025 school year.
One of the key activities is the exchange and fact-finding program at Navy Division 32. Coast Guard Region 3.
Here, the members and students visited modern patrol ships, listened to introductions and learned about the functions, tasks and powers of the Vietnam Coast Guard in managing and protecting national sovereignty , sovereign rights and jurisdiction; maintaining security, order, safety and enforcing the law in Vietnam's seas and islands. The viewpoints, policies and solutions of our Party and State in resolving maritime issues by peaceful means, on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982); popularizing important legal regulations that fishermen need to comply with when operating at sea, preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Colonel Hoang Ngoc Thien, Political Commissar of Naval Division 32, hopes: "After this trip, each student will become an active propagandist, contributing to spreading legal knowledge about the sea and islands and patriotism to the community, especially the young generation and fishermen."
Within the framework of the journey, the campfire gala night with the theme "Khanh Hoa students with the sea and islands of their homeland" at the campus of Naval Division 32 took place in a warm atmosphere, imbued with military-civilian solidarity.
Exciting group games and special performances by union members, youth, officers and soldiers created a joyful atmosphere, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the army and the people, leaving good impressions and unforgettable memories in the hearts of each participant.
Student Huynh Le Tri (University) Nha Trang) expressed his honor and pride in directly interacting and learning about the lives and duties of Coast Guard officers and soldiers. Through that, he himself has more confidence in the strength of the heroic people's armed forces, and is more aware of the responsibility of the youth in studying, training, and striving to contribute to building and protecting the homeland and country.
Previously, many meaningful traditionaleducational activities were held, such as: a solemn flag-raising ceremony and a map formation of Vietnam with the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa at Thanh Nien football field (Nha Trang city).
Union members and students offered incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at Tram Huong Tower (Nha Trang City); offered incense at the historical site of the heroic Ship No. C235 (Hon Heo Wharf, Ninh Phuoc Commune, Ninh Hoa Town).
The program also took time for union members and young people to visit a typical marine economic model at D&T Khanh Hoa Seaweed Joint Stock Company.
Student Nguyen Hoang Y Phung (Khanh Hoa University) said: “This trip is an extremely valuable experience, helping us understand more deeply about our homeland’s sea and islands and the sacred duty of protecting sovereignty. This is also an opportunity for us to practice our bravery, enhance our sense of responsibility in studying and practice to mature.”
The program awarded 20 scholarships to children of families with meritorious services in Ninh Phuoc commune (Ninh Hoa town) and 10 scholarships to children of officers of the 32nd Navy Division who are in difficult circumstances. Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union also presented souvenirs to the 32nd Navy Division.
Comrade Huynh Thi Nhu Y, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association of Khanh Hoa province affirmed: “Through a series of meaningful activities, we hope to contribute to political and ideological education, raising awareness of union members, youth and students about patriotism and national pride; fostering revolutionary ideals, love for the homeland, sea and islands; strengthening the sense of responsibility of young people in the cause of building and firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland”.
