Sharing with VietNamNet reporter on November 21, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the Department plans to advise the city to organize the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year at the end of June 2026, instead of early June as in previous years.

This adjustment is to ensure compliance with the 2026-2027 school year schedule framework issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and to create conditions for grade 9 students to have more time to review before the exam.

According to the 2025-2026 school year schedule issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2026 high school graduation exam is expected to take place on June 11 and 12, 2 weeks earlier than in 2025.

Thus, Hanoi also needs to adjust the time of organizing the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year in that situation, to match the school year schedule framework issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. As planned, the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year in Hanoi will take place after the 2026 high school graduation exam.

“If the Ministry of Education and Training organizes the high school graduation exam around June 11 and 12, Hanoi cannot organize the 10th grade exam around the same time. Because it also has to ensure the personnel for invigilation, grading, and exam venues for the high school graduation exam; while Hanoi is a locality with a very large number of candidates, so it is even more necessary to be careful. According to the plan, Hanoi students will finish the school year on May 31. If the exam is organized right at the beginning of June, right after the end of the school year, students will not have time to review,” he said.

A representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that they will carefully study and calculate to advise the City People's Committee to issue a specific, suitable and convenient plan for students. "Parents should not worry too much about the exam time if their children are really well prepared. It is important that students have a review plan, a stable mentality and the support of their families. Instead of putting pressure on their children, parents can accompany, support and encourage them," said a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
