This is the first time the education sector has organized a STEM Robotics Competition for high school students on a province-wide scale. The competition promotes STEM education in high schools by enhancing STEM experiential activities in the form of clubs.

Through the Competition: Help students develop their abilities, interests and enthusiasm for scientific and technical exploration and discovery activities to solve practical problems; through STEM ROBOTICS experiential activities, discover talented students to continue to nurture, create favorable conditions for students to participate in scientific research and technical innovation; The Competition aims to promote STEM education in high schools through increasing STEM experiential activities in the form of clubs, contributing to innovating teaching methods in schools according to the orientation of innovation in the General Education Program; With the theme: "Smart robot traveling, learning about Cao Bang province's culture", students taking the test must answer the most basic questions about culture, traditional history, famous landmarks and landscapes of Cao Bang province, contributing to integrating propaganda, promotion and education in the spirit of Project No. 19-DA/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on Innovation in propaganda and education of traditions in the revolutionary homeland of Cao Bang in the period of 2021-2025. The contest contributes to practically celebrating Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18); commemorating the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) and other important historical events of the nation in May.

STEM robotics activities have been actively implemented by high schools in recent times, attracting many students to participate, as shown by the competition's data: 35 teams from 27/30 high schools, with 101 students and 35 instructors. The teams competed for 2 days, May 17-18. In each round, the teams had to program on the computer, connect and control the robot to perform 4 tasks: start the robot, control the robot to pick up items and place them in the scoring position 3 times in a row and move to the finish line. In addition, the students took the test to answer basic questions about culture, traditional history, famous landmarks and landscapes in the province. The total score of the teams was calculated including the score for performing 4 tasks and the time to complete the test.

Previously, on May 17, the teams competed in 18 matches, from which the 8 best teams were selected to compete in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals taking place on the morning of May 18.

This is a STEM Robotics experience activity that helps students: Build and develop soft skills: strategic thinking, problem solving, teamwork. Create opportunities for students to interact with friends at home and abroad in the STEM learning community in general; Build a positive, friendly learning environment, creative thinking, dynamism and responsibility. Develop scientific and technical skills including: asking questions and solving problems, researching, analyzing and solving data, reasoning based on known information; collecting, evaluating and exchanging information. With the foundation through the design, creation and assembly of robot models. Encourage students to explore and learn about science, computer skills, programming through simple and intuitive programming software. And especially the skills of using technical tools through the accompanying technical software.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 4 third prizes, 13 consolation prizes and 14 creative prizes to 35 participating teams. Team "3 Horses" from Cao Bang High School for the Gifted, instructed by teacher Nong Thi Nhan, won first prize in the competition.
