The Department of Agriculture and Environment organized a training conference to foster knowledge in organizing and implementing the improvement and enhancement of the Provincial Green Index (PGI) in 2025 and the following years in Lang Son province.

Implementing Plan No. 111/KH-SNNMT dated August 21, 2025 of the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DARD)[1], on the morning of September 9, the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DARD) of Lang Son province chaired a conference to train and foster knowledge in organizing and implementing the improvement and enhancement of the Provincial Green Index (PGI) in 2025 and the following years in the province.

            The conference was attended by Ms. Dinh Thi Thu - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Ms. Le Thanh Ha - Reporter from the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI); representatives of Departments and units under the Department; representatives of relevant Departments, branches and sectors; representatives of the People's Committees of communes and wards in the province and mass media agencies attending and reporting.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Ms. Dinh Thi Thu - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized: The implementation and improvement of the Provincial Green Index (PGI) is not only a professional task of state management agencies but also a common responsibility of the whole society, from departments, branches, local authorities to the business community and people. The Provincial Green Index (PGI) is considered an important measure reflecting the quality of environmental management, the friendliness of the investment - business environment and the government's support for green economic development.

The overall objective of the training conference is to raise awareness, equip necessary knowledge and skills for cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, especially the responsibilities of heads of agencies, units, and local authorities. Thereby, gradually promoting compliance with the law on investment, construction, and environmental protection, towards harmonious development between economic growth and protection of natural ecosystems.

According to the program, the content of the training conference focuses on closely following the tasks and solutions to improve and enhance the criteria of 04 assessment indicators: Minimizing pollution and natural disasters; ensuring compliance; promoting green practices; incentive policies and support services and pointing out difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing Plan No. 163/KH-UBND dated July 12, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee.

In addition, the VCCI Reporter and the conference delegates exchanged, discussed and pointed out the difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of Plan No. 163/KH-UBND, thereby proposing solutions to overcome them.

The training and knowledge enhancement conference on organizing and implementing the improvement and enhancement of the Provincial Green Index (PGI) in 2025 and the following years in Lang Son province was successfully held, with the participation of many agencies, businesses and local authorities. Through the conference, delegates were equipped with more knowledge and skills, and shared practical experiences, thereby contributing to improving and enhancing the quality of environmental management, promoting green and sustainable practices for Lang Son province.
