Tet is only a few days away, but more than two weeks ago, many young people were busy getting their hair done and their nails done to upgrade their "look" to welcome the new year.

Thao Nhi (21 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City) decided to dress up early to welcome Tet to avoid the situation of beauty salons being overloaded.

“Everyone wants to be beautiful and perfect during Tet, as a reward for themselves after a year of hard work. As a girl, having a new hairstyle and pretty nails to match Tet clothes is normal,” Nhi laughed.

She decided to get her hair done early to take advantage of the time to help with housework during Tet, shopping, and decorating the house. Another reason was that getting it done early would make her hair look its best during Tet.

On normal days, Nhi spends 500,000 - 700,000 VND for a haircut, but during Tet, the price increases to 700,000 - 1 million VND. Nail prices are also slightly higher depending on the design and the shop.

“But that price is reasonable, because I only do beauty treatments a few times a year,” Thao Nhi said.

Minh Nhat (19 years old, in Hue ) said that near Tet is the time to complete many deadlines for studying, working, and preparing for some activities after Tet.

Because of limited time, Nhat often takes advantage of free time before to get beautified to refresh her "look" for Tet. Nhat said that many people often wait until close to Tet, which can easily lead to crowded situations, long waits and high prices, so almost every year you decide to get beautified early.

Chill with milk tea while waiting for your hair and nails to be done at home, it's also pretty!

Thuy Trang (21 years old, in Binh Duong ) said she had her hair cut and dyed half a month before Tet. She learned a lesson from last Tet when she spent 7-8 hours waiting for her turn to get her hair done on December 24 and 25.

Trang said that the shop was very crowded in those days, and the workers were in a hurry so they didn't pay much attention. "This year, I chose a simple cut and dye style, so it cost about 1.1 million VND. I went early so it only took about 3 hours to finish. To avoid boredom, I ordered food and milk tea while waiting," Trang boasted.

Catching the trend to welcome Tet, the "interface" is great

This year, Thao Nhi wants to follow the trend of dyeing her hair in orange-brown, wine red tones or leaving her hair naturally fluffy.

“I often refer to hair and nail designs from TikTok, Instagram or ask the stylist for advice when doing it. This year's trend is both gentle and outstanding, very suitable for the Tet atmosphere,” Nhi shared.

For men, Minh Nhat said the current trend is hairstyles like layer, side-part or mullet which will give men a "look" to play Tet more handsomely and "attractively".

Along with hair, many young people are also particularly interested in nail care. Thuy Linh (21 years old, in Binh Duong) said she only trims and cleans her nails, and paints and attaches accessories after cleaning the house.

She booked a nail appointment for the evening of December 28 to avoid the situation where the salon owner was not accepting any more customers because of a full schedule.

Kim Xuyen (19 years old, from Binh Duong province) chose to do her own nails at home. She bought a set of tools and trimmed, painted and decorated according to the design herself to take the initiative with her time.

“Getting my nails done early can ruin them, and getting them done late means it’s crowded and I have to wait. I’ve always done them myself, so I’ll take care of my nails at home during Tet,” Xuyen said.
