At the time of the incident, there were 3 vehicles traveling through the area, including 1 car and 2 motorbikes, carrying a total of 7 people. The incident injured 5 people (of whom 3 have been discharged from the hospital, 2 continue to be monitored at Tay Ninh General Hospital). The remaining 2 people were not injured. The vehicles involved included a Toyota Vios car with license plate 70A-00.xxx and two motorbikes with license plates 70H3-1294 and 70L2-xxxx that were damaged.
The initial cause was determined to be a local mud bag located under the bridgehead road sliding, causing subsidence of the foundation and road surface. Notably, the Hoa Binh Bridge project has not yet been accepted, handed over and officially put into use.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities quickly organized traffic diversion, posted warning signs and regulated safe traffic. At the same time, the Tay Ninh Department of Construction coordinated with the Chau Thanh District People's Committee, the District Construction Investment Project Management Board, the design consultant, supervisor and contractor to inspect the scene, determine the specific cause and propose timely solutions. The authorities also visited and encouraged the victims who had an accident while traveling through the above area.
Work to overcome the consequences and ensure traffic safety in the area is being urgently deployed by relevant units.
