Vietnam Sepak Takraw reverses Indonesia to win ticket to semi-finals of men's 3-round event of Malaysia Cup 2025

(PLVN) - The Vietnamese Sepak Takraw team made an impressive comeback to defeat Indonesia 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the men's 3-man event at the 2025 Malaysia Cup. With this victory, Vietnam officially won the right to enter the semi-finals and will face host Malaysia at 2:00 p.m. on May 15.

Against their fateful opponents Indonesia, the Vietnamese team had a bad start when they lost 9-15 in the first set. Defensive mistakes and psychological pressure prevented the players from performing at their best.

However, entering the second set, the Vietnamese athletes quickly regained their spirits, adjusted their tactics and adapted well to their opponents' playing style. The sublimation in their handling helped Vietnam win 15-9, bringing the match back to balance.

In the deciding set, the Vietnamese team continued to maintain a solid game, continuously scoring points and controlling the tempo of the match. Under increasing pressure, Indonesia gradually revealed their mistakes and accepted defeat 10-15.

With a final score of 2-1, the Vietnamese Sepak Takraw team won the right to enter the semi-finals of the men's 3-event and will face the host team Malaysia at 2:00 p.m. on May 15.
