Vietnam-Thailand strengthen cooperation in culture, education, tourism and sports

NDO - On the afternoon of May 14, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam coordinated with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand to organize a meeting of the Cultural-Social Group to prepare the report content for the 4th Vietnam-Thailand Joint Cabinet Meeting.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Seksun Ngawsuwan, Assistant Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand and representatives of relevant agencies and ministries of both countries.

At the meeting, the representative of Vietnam, Ms. Tran Hai Van, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, presented a draft summary report, highly appreciated the cooperation results achieved in the past time, and proposed specific directions to further deepen bilateral relations in the fields of culture, tourism, sports,education , labor and people-to-people exchange. The two sides focused on discussing and exchanging cooperation contents within the framework of the Cultural-Social Group.

In the cultural field, Vietnam proposed to strengthen cooperation in heritage conservation, exchange between museums, support each other at multilateral cultural forums, and asked Thailand to coordinate in supporting the conservation of Vietnamese cultural works and historical relics in Thailand.

In the field of tourism , the two sides agreed to promote sustainable tourism development and accelerate digital transformation in tourism promotion and management.

Sports cooperation continues to be emphasized through the exchange of delegations, experts, coaches and athletes, especially in training young talents and supporting the organization of international sports events.

Regarding education, Vietnam proposed establishing a Vietnamese language center in Thailand, thereby contributing to enhancing understanding and cultural ties between the people of the two countries.

In the field of labor, the two sides aim to restore comprehensive cooperation including negotiating new cooperation documents.

Regarding people-to-people exchanges, Vietnam and Thailand affirmed to continue creating favorable conditions for delegation exchanges and coordinate in preserving symbolic works of friendship in Thailand.

The Thai side acknowledged Vietnam's proposals and expressed its desire to promote and connect seamless tourism such as self-driving tourism across borders, expand direct flights, enhance experience exchange and cooperation in developing new tourism products, establish sister city partnerships between provinces and cities, and cooperate in improving the capacity of human resources working in the tourism industry...
